Bio
Born and raised in New Delhi, India, ZYkR is an electronic artist currently shuttling between New York City and New Delhi. Much like the cities he lives in, ZYkR (Aseem Suri) makes music that is layered and chaotic yet mellifluous. With emphasis on sound design, the music is a montage of sounds - glitchy, imperfect and serrated, referencing down-tempo and ambient electronic as well as riff- driven, lyric-heavy rock. Borrowing from the culture of musique concrete ZYkR relies a lot on sampling and field recording, as well as combining art forms, especially poetry, spoken word and visuals into his otherwise voice-driven electronic sets
