Most locals probably realize that Lake Worth, Florida and Kingston, Jamaica are not even close to one in the same.

But singer Kevin “YVAD” Davy somehow manages to bring the two together with his massive reggae repertoire.

Since moving to Florida, YVAD has found success with his roots reggae sound. He was even the featured singer for the touring Wailers band — a fitting tip of the hat to one of his idols, Bob Marley. In 2016, he honored Marley with his single, “Tribute,” an acoustic track that was dedicated to him.

Leading up to his SunFest performance, the singer has been documenting his rehearsals on social media.

Yvad and Souljah Vibe band Rehearsal today in Florida. Yvad Lead Vocals and Acoustic Guitar.

When YVAD opens on the Tire Kingdom stage, he’ll be warming up the crowd for Leilani Wolfgramm and finally, Ziggy Marley. - Sunfest

Discography

When Kevin Davy left the cool hills of Spaulding in Central Jamaica to chase his dreams in Kingston, he was equipped with nothing more than his acoustic guitar, but he knew that he had real talent and the confidence that he could write, sing, and play good music. .. It was a journey that took him to him to Reggae's Mecca - Tuff Gong, the home of Bob Marley, where he secured a deal and recorded his first album, "Young Gifted & Dread", which gave him two smash hits, "Bright Day" and "We Need Love". It would also win him fans the world over and several appearances on BET. He also won a special place among reggae lovers, spawning a new era in Jamaica's folk music.... Yvad came back to Jamaica in 2006, to promote his sophomore album "Justice", co-produced with Michael 'Myrie' Taylor. He reigns supreme on tracks like "Justice", "Jah Created All" and "Imagine" (a cover of John Lennon's song) with a voice as smooth as Frankie Beverly and as potent as Garnett Silk's. .. In 2011 Yvad worked alongside his executive producer, Victor Simpson, to launch his new album, The Sojourner, with legendary producers, Clive Hunt and Wayne Armond, and Michael "Myrie" Taylor. His apperance on Reggae Sunsplash and performance with the Wailers is certain to confirm that this artist is a rare and precious gem and continues to build on Reggae's solid foundation!

Bio

Kevin 'Yvad" Davy the somewhat enigmatic and reticent Singer, Songwriter, former Tuff Gong protege, former lead singer for the touring Wailers band has clearly set the springboard into motion for a busy 2017. After a highly successful 2016 which saw the release of two singles, "Tribute" an acoustic track dedicated to Bob Marley and the Wailers and "Riverton", both accompanied by videos, Yvad has all reasons to walk with a new found bounce as he received great rotation in main stream media.

The Singer started 2016 by gracing the stage at Rebel Salute in February and followed up with appearances at The Kingston Urban Festival, Rastafari Rootzfest and One Nite for Haiti Benefit Concert. He also did a myriad number of Club appearances at Triple Century, Red Bones, Jamnesia, Roundhill Hotel, Jungle Fyah, Skyline Levels, House of Dancehall and the The Alibi where he was met with wild acclaim. He also did promotional stops at KOOL FM, HOT 102, HYPE TV and featured on the Mello FM Road Tour with Barry G and Ron Muschette.

It's safe to say he has laid the groundwork for a successful 2017 and with the Riverton EP due out in July  2017 and plans to complete the Album later in 2017, he is already in high gear and reggae fans will be happy not only to hear the artist latest body of work but know that he is putting together plans for a summer Tour of U.S.A and Europe.
