Self-proclaimed, "Diamond in the Dirt," Young Monk is an independent 
recording artist whose work ethic, music and hustle speak for 
themselves. At first glance, the 6'4'' bigger than life personality 
may appear both humble and cocky, a dual existence that puzzles most, 
originated in his hometown and now resonates in his music. "Being 
from The Harbor helped me develop my persona! I'm real confident and 
comfortable with who I am as a man, first, so at times I may come off a 
little cocky or conceited, but I'm one of the realest, most down to 
Earth individuals you could ever meet," says the Great Lakes 
Ambassador as he reflects on his music and his hometown of Benton 
Harbor, MI. Raised in a community filled with southern influences, 
Young Monk has mastered the ability to create music that touches the 
hearts and moves the souls of all ages. His music is the perfect 
blend of R&B, Hip-Hop and Neo Soul, a combination that creates magic 
in the studio. "I'm a young man, with a soul from the 70's! My 
grandmother basically raised me, so I grew up not simply listening to 
good music, but studying the greats like Al Green, Sam Cook, Marvin 
Gay and other soulful artists of their era. Those artists made music 
from the soul; music that touched you; music that triggered your 
emotions. I rap from my heart, so I know it touches your soul!"

The Great Lakes Ambassador has earned his title. He has performed and 
developed a fan base in his home state of Michigan and all throughout the 
Midwest. He has opened for artists such as Rick Ross, Jim Jones, Juvenile, Webbie and Young Buck, to name a few. Young Monk has
