He and his band are now currently on another heated tour in support of their newest full length psychedelic garage rock album Sexual Death after having just recently opened for Buckcherry at Hop Springs in Tennessee. One of their most recent tour stops was in Pennsylvania at a skatepark on the first of July, which is so sick and we wish we had been there.

They are set to play another banger of a gig on July 8th at The Eighth Room in Nashville, TN which is also guaranteed to be a party.

Another can’t-miss show is actually a can’t-miss festival, where Wynton Existing is featured on the All Hallow’s Fest lineup in NYC.

With grooves so fresh you get a rush from head banging, and hits like the album-titled journey of a track “Sexual Death”, as well as Wynton’s ode to existentialism as an artist “Being”- this release is a full on mind-body-spirit experience. “Exodus” features Wynton on a sitar he acquired from a local craftsman recommend to him by his sitar teacher Ashish Chatterchee.

Wynton’s work is inspired by 60s-70s psychedelic rock and jazz, 80s hardcore punk, and 90s grunge. Specific influences of his include but are not limited to early Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Gázor Szabó, Porcupine Tree, Beck, Thee Oh Sees, and The Butthole Surfers with quote on quote “a lot of weirdo stuff in between”.

Weirdo music is the best music, we’re here for that. Individualism is the best trait one can witness in the creation of sonic sounds.

His excellent taste shows in his work.

Sexual Death truly is a brilliant glimpse into the soul of an artist coming up in the times that we are in currently.

Wynton’s influences fuel the feel of his jams with passion, all of which are film-feature worthy.

Without further ado, let’s dive into a light track by track dissertation.

"Interview with Wynton Existing"

Wynton, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?

My mother gave me a Fender Squire for my 14th birthday, and thus began my music career! After patiently listening to all the most likely horrible noises I made out of my newfound instrument, she shortly after decided to get me some guitar lessons, hah!

My father also was a jazz drummer throughout his life and was also extremely supportive. He even ended up being the drummer for my high school band, Social Oddities. Despite being my father and giving me rides to every show, he put up with all my crazy stage antics, and they were still crazy back then! I recall doing an on stage strip-tease once and he didn’t say a thing, haha, what a champ! When he retired he gifted me his jazz drum set and moved to West Virginia, I couldn’t believe it! That was the same drum set I used on the album ‘Wicked Fabrications’.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is Wynton Huddle, front-man of the Psychedelic Garage Rock band, Wynton Existing. I have been gigging since I was 16 years old and have been unintentionally managing the bands I was in since I was 21. That means helping to release the music, working on tour, merch, publicity, pretty much overseeing the entire operation. At this point, it’s become second nature.

I think it’s important to be as consistent as you can and make sure the people you work with feel heard and validated. Even now, it’s Wynton Existing but it’s not just my talent I want to showcase on stage, a lot of my favorite music tends to be collaborative and dang, it’s nice to have a second opinion!

In February I released Wynton Existing’s 3rd full length album, ‘Sexual Death’, it is easily my most proud piece of work thus far. Before moving to the Nashville area, I was in another band for about 10 years, and I worked hard to get that band as big and established as I could. During Covid things got tense between myself and the group, I knew things needed to change, so I walked away and handed them the entire operation. Around that time I met my current drummer, Gavin Gates and we began collaborating on what would become Sexual Death.

Fast forward to now, Sexual Death is out, has been getting great local traction and response, we’re touring often and have played some pretty big shows with some pretty big names! So, I am so incredibly proud to have taken my previous band as far as I could, to completely start over from SCRATCH and do it all over again bigger and better. The human spirit of perseverance is so freakin’ cool and it just goes to show you can do anything you put your mind to. All is never lost, the future is yours to pave.

"A Massive Rock Opus from Wynton Existing"

A brand spanking new album from Wynton Existing hits a unique and flavorful style of alternative rock that crosses over into pop and even surf rock. Wynton Existing’s ‘Sexual Death’ is vast and lush with vocals and guitar tones, flowing over each other with highly impactful riffs to keep your blood pumping.

Sexual Death is rich with character and the pop element is Alive and Well in these songs to the point where you can even feel genuine classic rock influence shining through.

One of the biggest things with this record are those guitar riffs. They thrash out with a wild attitude just like the vocals do and there's such a passionate looseness to it that gives that classic 90s indie rock undertone.

The production of this release shows some experimental sides and that's part of its endless fun. There's so much going on in terms of the production of this record that it's crazy, but it all has the seamless flow to it like it was meant to be.

So many of these songs are incredibly danceable and they make you want to get off your ass and jump around the room wow singing along out loud.

You get this blend of the Pixies and Iggy and the Stooges along with so much other outrageousness and sheer vibrancy to the point where it's nearly impossible to look away from this thing even for a moment.

You can definitely hear that Frank Black influence in there and there's nothing about this record that lacks energy whatsoever at any point in time.

It's Full Throttle from beginning to end with certain tracks in there that let you breathe a little bit. But even those tracks have some kind of character to them that draws you into it.

It's definitely got a lot of layers especially more than what you hear upon your first run through.

What's incredibly clear is the love for the craft that just bleeds through onto everything throughout the course of this whole album.

You can feel that love and that heart shine with inventiveness and intrigue.

This record is almost like a love letter to influences of past decades in genres and it's all done with such an authenticity that it's almost intimidating.

It's definitely been sometime since I've said this, but this is a flawless album.

A flawless rock album that is, and to soak this in is one of the best times you've had all year.

We're all happy to keep you around. - Buzzslayers

"Daily Inspiration - Meet Wynton Huddle"

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wynton Huddle.

Hi Wynton, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My Name is Wynton and I am the singer/guitarist/existing guy for Wynton Existing. I’ve had a huge passion for music since middle school, I used to walk around with a notepad and write down all the bands I’d see on my fellow classmates T-shirts and look them up. After primitively learning the basics of guitar and singing, I played a few talent shows and learned how to record demos on a free program. Fresh out of graduation, I released a full-length album titled ‘A Thought Has Crossed My Mind’ and birthed the name Wynton Existing. After that, I was in a touring band for a little under ten years. When covid hit, we canceled a three-month-long tour and I decided it was time to part ways with that project. I have always wanted to try out a new music scene in a different part of the country, and Nashville has always had a soft spot in my heart. My old band was originally going to tour to The Revel House in Clarksville, TN, so I thought ‘Hey! there’s a cool music scene, and it’s right by Nashville. Let’s check it out!’ After releasing a new Wynton Existing album 9 years later titled ‘Wicked Fabrications,’ my new drummer and I embarked on a lengthy move from Lancaster, PA, to Clarksville, TN. It’s been a real treat implementing myself in a new scene and meeting many amazing acts! It was undoubtedly the right move for us both, and we are very excited to be soon releasing a brand new Wynton Existing album with both our efforts.

Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every road you take is always going to have a few bumps. The bumps that I enjoyed the most were moving to a place where I didn’t know anyone and being sociable and outgoing. I think it’s important to be prevalent and present in any music scene, so going out to shows and networking has been a refreshing breeze. There have been other personal struggles I still battle with, but all I can do is take them one step at a time. None of it matters as long as I can get up on stage and give it my all.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

I started booking solo showcases at Peppers Mercado in Clarksville, TN. I’ve been doing one Saturday a month, mainly with Clarksville locals, and at least one out of towner, usually from Nashville, just to try and spread the music scene around and help each other out.
As far as myself as a performer mainly specialize in singing, playing guitar, with some other occasional eclectics like Sitar, Bass, and Keys, and for my Wicked Fabrications album, I learned how to play drums! I did my best, haha, and for the more intricate songs, I had the occasional drummer pop by my studio and lay down a take. When Wicked Fabrications first came out, I was most proud of that album. It had a unique vintage surf rock vibe, and to put on a track and say I did it all is such a wild feeling! I’m very proud that I could accomplish a somewhat coherent full band sound.
However, I am most excited about the upcoming album I work on with my drummer/engineer Gavin Gates. Meeting him has been a blessing, and we are both on the same vibe and know precisely what we are both going for! The album I have created with him is a much more tight and crisp Wynton Existing, with a more fledged-out sound and direction. Despite all the albums I have released in my previous band, this upcoming album is the sound I’ve always wanted or the closest it’s been so far. I think it rules.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Be patient. Trust the journey. - Nashville Voyager

Bio

Simply put, Wynton Existing is Wynton Existing due to the fact that Wynton exists to make art. Rather then identify as a specific genre, Wynton Existing is an exploration of sounds, vibes and emotions, generally which finds itself swimming around Garage, Psychedelia, Progressive, Punk, Stoner, Indie, and countless other subgenres.

The mission of Wynton Existing isn’t to highlight Wynton alone, but to remind the listener they exist too. The band invites us to live in the moment and open the audience up to the opportunity of feeling something.  You too are alive and can exist just as brightly as the talent on stage.

The live show is a high energy splendor of noise experimentation, jams, and crowd participation, inviting the audience to join the madness with psychedelic breakdowns in songs such as “Tomtom Song”. The lyrical content ranges from wonder, perseverance, anguish, curiosity, hopelessness, inflection, and varying levels of acceptance, all generally with enough vagueness for the listener to takeaway their own meanings.

Wynton Existing wants to pull the safety net off the music industry. They can make a big hit single, but don’t want to limit themselves to just making pop songs, they can play a consistent genre, but don’t feel they should be defined by a singular style. As Andy Warhol said:“Don't think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it's good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”
