"NORTH CAROLINA'S HIP-HOP SCENE IS RAISING UP SOMETHING NEW AND PEOPLE ARE PAYING ATTENTION"

Charlotte, North Carolina vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, and producer Will WildFire is poised to be North Carolina’s (and possibly one of the world’s), next great soul-rock bad boy. In the lineage of Charlotte artists, he's both the soft suede of smooth hustler Anthony Hamilton and the leather of R&B bad boys Jodeci. Beyond that, he’s equal parts Melvin Riley, Weeknd, B.o.B, Miguel, and Drake. First, he claimed “Prince of the City.” Then, he rode around QC in a dirty-ass car on the undeniable “Liberty Integurl” droptop jam. Now, he’s North Carolina’s next comet into music stardom. - Noisey

"Review - Will Wildfire Capital 4: Where The Whyl Things Are"

North Carolina singer/songwriter, producer and emcee Will Wildfire has come together with The DJBooth to bring listeners his latest street release, Capital 4 (Where The WHYL Things Are).

The project was inspired by a myriad of recent events in the unsigned artist's life: his relocation to the city of Charlotte, his introduction to a group for young professionals named EWP (Eat, Work, Play 704), professional sports games, winning the Charlotte Music Awards and performing in L.A.—not to mention losing women and finding more of 'em, all in the span of a few months. Wildfire calls it, "a perfect culmination of all the newness and experiences that happened to my friends and I since the end of this past summer, into the newer, colder seasons. And I mean "cold" by every sense of the word."

Wildfire produces all eight of the project's tracks, none of which has previously been featured on our front page. Conan, Julz Jones, KVLE and Real Rome make guest appearances throughout the set. - DJBooth.net

"BEWARE’s Block: This Is Definitely The Place"

There’s quite a bit going on throughout Will WildFire & Mballa’s new “2011” video, but I like it. Will’s self-made production projects 80 degrees and sunny, while his vocals feel like five different a-list singers in one, with Reaggeton undertones, and a Fugees interpolation for the hook. Then Mballa comes in and offers her own tender touch. This song has everything but a daiquiri. - THE SMOKING SECTION / UPROXX.COM

"PREMIERE: Will Wildfire ‘Here For The WHYL’ (NEW MUSIC)"

We've found your new favorite singer.

Meet North Carolina newcomer Will Wildfire.

Over the years, we’ve gotten to know NC natives like Deniro Farrar, Roc Nation’s newest signee Rapsody, and most famously J. Cole, but the Tar Heel state is undeniably fostering even more talent.

In support of his forthcoming EP, singer/songwriter Will Wildfire releases his lead single “Here For The WHYL.” The self-produced song represents the quest for fame, but uses metaphors and the allusion of a beautiful woman to personify the journey of public prominence.

“Even though this is suicide, I’m the life of the party/And all these girls here are my friends /Wanna give them the business / We got no suit and tie, J.Timberlake is my witness,” sings Will.

“Girl I’m just here for the whyl /And you came here for me / And that p*ssy is the pharaoh /Now let’s set my people free.”

“Here For The WHYL” is featured on Will’s forthcoming EP Romance Dawn 2: One Piece, which is set to drop later on this summer. If you’re looking to catch Will in living color, see his performance at Miami’s Revolution tomorrow, July 21. - GlobalGrind.com

"Indie: Will Wildfire & Mballa Debut Video for Duet Single “2011”"

Duets have been common place in R&B dating back to the early Motown days, and remain an everlasting form of expressing emotion through the connection of two people. Today’s generation of R&B may be different in production and expression, but the feelings of heartbreak or celebrating a new love will never change.

Indie artists Will Wildfire and Mballa, hailing from North Carolina, have come together to create a performance art visual for their personal duet “2011.” Both in the collective, DiVerse Art Group, the two wrote the record about raw emotion in regards to some things they both endured in the year 2011.

“Why you faking like you happy, fakest couple on the ‘gram / You staring right into the camera, I know you looking at me,” sings Mballa, who explains the meaning behind the line as, “I was taking a shot at all the people who play happy and faithful on social media, but who secretly want out of their relationship and in with someone new.”

While Will addresses the fake devotion that comes around fame and wealth. “You can’t buy loyalty, no matter how I’m f–ing paid / That one thing, it’ll never change,” he sings. “The whole idea behind this is the fact that no matter how well renowned you become, or how much money you have, true loyalty has no numerical value,” explains Will. - THISISRNB.COM

"MBALLA’S “BOOMERANG” IS THE LATEST LOVE LOST ANTHEM FOR THE LADIES (Produced by Will Wildfire)"

Songstress Mballa takes us on an angst ridden rollercoaster ride through a make up to break up, revolving door relationship in her newest record, “Boomerang.” She makes the song cry, as producer Will Wildfire provides the perfect soundscape, emboldening her narrative with defiant piano strokes and bold guitar riffs. Take a listen below, and watch for her upcoming EP, Never Leave Quietly, dropping soon. - Source Magazine

"Will Wildfire Prince of the City"

The North Carolina singer-songwriter and producer Will Wildfire releases his claim to the throne visual “Prince Of The City”. The visual, directed by HeadGraphix, follows a laid-back Will as he prepares for an eventful get together to take away his worries. At just 24 years old, Will’s self-reflection as a black male carries a toll of dealing with the world’s adversities thrown his way and at times having to find ways to ease the unpredictability of life. - Mechanical Dummy

Bio

The Charlotte, North Carolina self-taught producer, musician and singer-songwriter, known as Will Wildfire, exemplifies the new age of Alternative R&B with his distinguished guitar riffs and bad boy charm. NOISEY proclaimed him as “North Carolina’s (and possibly one of the world’s), next great soul-rock bad boy.

Before winning the Urban accolade at the Charlotte Music Awards in 2014, Will Wildfire, developed a liking towards R&B and Rock n Roll legends at a young age. Born Will Hoggard discovered who he wanted to be as an artist and what he could convey to the world. In high school he tapped into his talent, joined a band and started performing at local venues. With influences from Jimi Hendrix, Kanye West and Aaliyah he garnered a big following on social media during his college years at UNC -- Chapel Hill.

Through his grassroots success he received an ample amount of attention that opened opportunities to perform at American Idol Alum, Anoop Desai on his Xbox campus tour and his YouTube channel continues to grow.

He exceeds the indie expectations as you can hear him on the airwaves of Raleigh K97.5, performing alongside major acts B.O.B and Tory Lanez, collaborations with new artists including DJ Khaled’s signee Steph LeCor and invites to numerous festivals like SXSW.
