Wild Fur

Wild Fur is the result of two songwriters re-imagining the process. Wylie Hunter (The Cazadores) and Nick Jaeger (Roman Candle, Floating Action, The Tomahawks) had both lead bands that leaned toward 70's AM glow. Until, in 2013, they got together to share demos of new songs each had been working on, it became clear the time had come to reconsider the way they had gone about producing and writing songs.  
The pair started building songs from the foundation up, including electronic elements, giving melodies time to explore and instrumentation space to create counterpoint. Working as a duo offered time and attention to be given to each part, creating structures that aren't commonly found in traditional songwriting while still allowing the song itself to be front and center. Wild Fur released a collection of four songs and a split 7” throughout 2013-14 and hit the road, accompanied by Brad Porter (Some Army) and Casey Toll (Mount Moriah). In their first year the band shared the stage with The War on Drugs at Hopscotch Music Festival, opened as direct support for Cold War Kids at Raleigh’s Red Hat Amphitheater, toured much of the east coast, recorded a session for Daytrotter and sold out several venues in their home state of North Carolina. Their debut full-length album, "Feel Free" comes out November 2016 on Potluck
