The intrigue behind R&B singers revolves around certain categories and attributes. Either they can sing, they have intriguing stories behind them or are beauties. On a scale from Cassie to Adele, you’re knocking around acts solely for their entertainment value, how they speak to you, how they relate to you. So on and so forth.

Whitney Wright enters her name into the R&B scene in Houston with a couple of tracks, none more poignant and flat out direct than “Time Bomb”. Burning clothes, directing her man to leave and more, “Time Bomb” comes from the assistance of Andrew “Druski” Scott who helps whirl Wright into the kind of talent that we found in Jazmine Sullivan, relatable to the point where her seething closure and utterance of “fuck” just middles between being sassy and forceful.

It’s a breakup anthem, the type of track that immediately gravitates towards scorned women and jilted lovers and Wright gets it absolutely right. Watch the video below. - Brandon Caldwell

Newcomer Whitney Wright gets fellow Houstonian Genesis B.L.U. to hop on the remix to her current single “Time Bomb,” the original found on her self-titled debut EP.

Genesis adds some hip-hop flare to the female fed-up anthem, and both women are ready to throw blows like Solange vs. Jay Z in an elevator!
