They are a collective of MCs, DJs, musicians and poets hailing from Southern California that strive to push the ever expanding boundaries of Hip-Hop. West Coast Avengers are a hip-hop, nerdcore and funk collective. With influences ranging from comic book culture, counter-culture and Inland Empire life you can bet their music is as fresh as their lineup. Back in May, WCA released The Inland Empire Strikes Back album which they lovingly call their “second attempt at the great American nerdcore record”.
The album is currently set at the “name your price” on Bandcamp (DISCLAIMER: downloading the album or any album for free is frowned upon by all of us here at Wordkrapht). After a few listens myself, I have to say these guys are on to something. The album is fun, funky and fresh.
