"Victoria Leanna Releases Highly Anticipated Album, “Goddess Time”"

Sex energy is creation energy. Victoria Leanna, Artist and Songwriter, takes this metaphysical principle seriously as she uses it to create and channel her inspiration, musical sounds and influence. On October 13, 2021, the Artist, Songwriter and self-proclaimed, Goddess released her highly anticipated, 8-track album (runtime 25 minutes and 57 seconds) entitled, “Goddess Time”. The Artist is passionate about the energy she emotes in her music, stating that she “…make[s] love to [her] husband often during seasons of musical creation…” Victoria continues on to share her point of view regarding the space in which most artists channel albums and notes that, “ …too often artists are inspired by disappointment and heartbreak. They use pain-energy to create. I believe music should be high-vibrational and that is the space I choose to create from. Sex energy helps me to create.”

“Goddess Time”, Artist: Leah Violet Chappell, All rights Reserved. 2021
Sex and creation is evident as the project drips with sensuality and the sweet appeal of seduction (even in the moments she opts to show her edgy attitude in lyrical delivery on the intro track, Goddess Time, the traces of a silky appeal blankets itself around her words and folds itself into listening ears. By her side to support her efforts, as the sole producer on the ‘Goddess Time’ album, Shalom Melchizedek, also a a co-songwriter on the project, penetrates each song with masculine force and influence through selective instrumentation. Shalom chooses to blend much of the musical composition with the elements of Rhythm and Blues, and new age Dance the conception of the combined sounds on this album places us in mind of EDM (electronic dance music). EDM as a sound has become popular across various demographics and audiences in place of dubstep (a genre of EDM originated in South London), and that fares well to the Artist’s and Producer’s recent transition from California to Florida, where a revival of EDM in the Miami scene is much needed!

The album Goddess Time opens up with the album-entitled song, and Victoria reaffirming her throne as a goddess, challenging the popular “Demon Time” vernacular that refers to late night hours of love making and erratic sexual escapades. Victoria Leanna stressed in song, “…if you’re gonna [explicit] me, you better [explicit] me right.” I’d imagine, no matter what time of the day that is. Knowing that she will not settle for less than being pampered and worshiped, she opens with a smoky spoken word, likened to rap, in syncopation with the beat. Track two, Am A Goddess, is a synth laden trance style track with Victoria Leanna leading into the song, echoing a repetitive hypnotic phrase, “I am a Goddess.” She pulls her listeners in with seductive vocals into an upbeat flow and back into her vocal trance.

On Body To Body, Shalom Melchizedek opens with potent vocals on the chorus, solidifying his presence for the first time in the project. The concept plays on his attraction to a goddess, Victoria, his unexplainable attraction towards her energy and his insatiable desire to know, “I wanna know what’s going on…” what it is he is feeling and why. What’s most impressive about his delivery is his ability to contain the power of his own voice to match that gentle quality of Victoria’s. Victoria Leanna, eager to grant him clarity on the ‘power’ she wields over him, joins in adding wispy high register tones as they chant, “body to body…so spiritual…energy on me…” her perspective entering confidently to engage him in her femininity and sex appeal. The song is written in such a way that both Shalom and Victoria are of the same mind regarding their desires, pleasures and ultimate fulfillment.

The album includes several notable tracks such as Island, that highlights longing for connection during separation between two lovers; Ain’t Nobody, an EDM inspired interpretation cover song from the great Chaka Khan; and a revisit to her popular first single from the album, Je Ne Sais Quoi, which to date has received close to 40,000 spins on Spotify alone, and is projected to see an additional surge after the albums releases. Her second single from the album entitled, Trust My Body (remix), has been re-released on the album with a solid hip-hop feature by New York City’s own DJ Celsius. The remix to Trust My Body spearheads the project with an electric blend of kicks and keys. The instrumental is driven by a prominent bass drum accompanied by Victoria Leanna’s voice loop singing a whimsical, “I trust my body” the variations in her voice coupled with the rising peaks and falling valleys of the instruments lock the listener into a dance groove reminiscent of the stylings of Jennifer Lopez and Dua Lipa. Goddess Time closes with Holy Matrimony, a song that complements Trust My Body as a follow up track because it maintains the energy but doesn’t get too heavy lyrically.

Overall, the album “Goddess Time” is a great listen for those that prefer “feel good” music and subscribe to the notion that energy doesn’t lie. If you are searching for an uptempo chill, with lo-fi vibes and EDM inspired R&B, then Victoria Leanna and Shalom Melchizedek’s new collaborative album should definitely be cued up into your playlist and rotation (in love-making and in play).

The new album “Goddess Time” can be streamed on the major music platforms iTunes/Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, Google Play, Amazon Music and whenever music streaming is available. You won’t be disappointed!

"Victoria Leanna & Shalom Melchizedek Share A Special “Je Ne Sais Quoi”"

Sensual, alluring and captivating, New York City based Singer-Songwriter, Victoria Leanna graces her new musical collaboration with her musical and spiritual counterpart, Producer/Engineer/Composer and Songwriter, Shalom Melchizdek on their new single, ‘Je Ne Sais Quoi’. Shalom Melchizedek brings 22 massive years of music industry experience, of his most notable, producing 7 tracks for Jaz-O (formerly “the Jaz” aka “the Originator”) and The Immobilarie. Victoria Leanna has committed her focus to building her music career since 2013, and has penned her lyrics for other artists in Los Angeles. Her first release was an EP called “Love is Everything”, also composed along side of Shalom Melchizedek in 2016.

On their latest single, ‘Je Ne Sais Quoi’, Victoria and Shalom offer, in song, a soft repetition of the French phrase, “Je Ne Sais Quoi” which literally means in translation “something (such as an appealing quality) that cannot be adequately described or expressed”. The simplicity of the lyrics in exchange for the passion in performance illustrates the sheer bewilderment Victoria Leanna has about the influence of her lover while being overtaken and engulfed in his embrace. The accompaniment, abstract and laden in synth, is driven by a muted 808 drum pattern, hung under a gate that mimics a thumping heartbeat. The hi-hats ornament the “rhythm of love” presented by Shalom Melchizdek for Victoria Leanna’s voice to dance freely within it. Entering in with a feminine grace, Victoria’s voice opens up to the low end of Shalom’s instrumentation as she sustains the air of sensuality in her voice. She melodically adds textures and colors to the sound designs that are etched into the song by Shalom. Her approach is reminiscent of Astrud Gilberto [reference song ‘Agua De Beber’ and ‘Fly Me To The Moon’; emphasis on vocal subtleties], while his approach plays out seemingly instinctive on record. Both Shalom and Victoria’s artistic energy merge lovingly, and playfully well; they embody and drive the energy of intercourse through song.

Released to the global market in August of 2020, ‘Je Ne Sais Quoi’ has gained significant traction being featured through online venues, released via Spotify’s popular ON Our Radar playlist, and is also being featured by two extremely talented dancers on the social media platform, Instagram, by Dominique Laraine, and Mi’Lynn Elise (the likes of which first brought this incredible single to my immediate attention)! What makes ‘Je Ne Sais Quoi’ such an impactful piece is the energy behind its creation. It’s clean and clear and both Songwriter and Producer maintain within their balance, a cosmic connection, and a core belief of pure intentions and sincerity that resonates in their music. Victoria and Shalom had this insight to share regarding their single,’Je Ne Sais Quoi’,

“Our personal Cosmic Sexuality [and sexual] experience together inspired this single. We were in a period where we were making love pretty much, most of the day for an entire month straight and we put the energy of that into the record. We still maintain this connection in a consistent way and we wanted to share that with our listeners.”

With empathy becoming a core focus in many aspects of modern life, it’s equally important to note that this mindset of “cosmically connecting” with others, spills into their artistic principles when it comes to formulating their artistic creations and what they offer their listeners.“Everything we talk [about] is real. If we talk about it we live it. A lot of times what [most] artists write and sing about isn’t necessarily from personal experience. [But] everything we put out is real. You [the audience] can always check out our social media to learn more, and find your own connection to it [the song]. Je Ne Sais Quoi was created from a current point. Created to inspire individuals to embrace their sexuality in a fun and harmonious way.”

Upon listening to ‘Je Ne Sais Quoi’, and even their most recent single ‘I Trust My Body’, both of which will be featured on Victoria Leanna’s new Untitled EP, it isn’t hard to tell that Victoria and Shalom realize and operate within a space of organic energy, purity and genuine artistic expression. Explosive intimacy drips from their collaborative works and is waiting to penetrate the ears of their fans and followers! "Album Review: Goddess Time by Victoria Leanna"

Goddess Time is an affirming album with reminders of confidence and sacred being. This album got me to check out other work by Victoria Lenna and it led me to a little rabbit hole on her amazing Youtube Channel.

I have a rather average ear when it comes to music; the different types of vocals and beats don’t often catch my attention. What does grab me is good music, regardless of the genre. And I believe good music is a good mixture of all that makes it; great vocals, instrumentals, and sounds that flow easily and bomb lyrics. Goddess Time is good music; the storyline is beautiful and my holistic wealth cup of tea.

My favorite song on the album right now is the one that got me to look at my phone and have me play it back; Body to Body. This song helped me really get a glimpse of Victoria Leanna’s values and it follows smoothly with the storyline of other songs as well, such as Holy Matrimony. This album is real and timeless in the sense of it being very practical.

To some point, more artists must keep to this kind of art that seems to be dying in the music industry. Goddess Time as a whole kept me curious and although it held me the most because of the lyrics, I love how I could dance to it as well. There are beats for dance rituals that make me happy and even there the storylines grab you to willing chant mantras of greatness into your life. Victoria is unique, versatile and her flow has a cultural, sensual sense to it. Overall it invoked a Goddess feeling and got me not only to look into the artist everywhere else online beyond Spotify but her videos as well. Another thing that stood out so pleasingly is how I didn’t hear her swearing or cussing out, a great deal to someone cleaning their speech.

I knew from hearing her voice for the first time that I would enjoy her work, so there is not much I do not like. I could say generally the spark that got me listening to this sound from the beginning largely inspired me from a position of knowing what my vibe is. For a long time, my dominating music has been rap and hip-hop, but I am now leaning towards a soft, classical, jazzy, indie vibe more and more. To get songs like Je Ne Sais Quoi that seem to blend all of the above-mentioned is a sweet touch. I am not a big fan of techno-like sounds, but the beauty of the theme is that it in itself is very fluid and that is how the whole album moves.

This album would be a delight to anyone who is invested in asserting and appreciating feminine energy. Folks who love to dance to not only a fun tune but words that are uplifting as well. Several songs could make it to different playlists so DJs would have fun with this album as well. The first few artists I would say match Victoria Leanna’s vibe is Jah9, Sa-Roc, Namakau Star, and OSHUN so if you vibe with them, you will enjoy Goddess time. I would rate this album a neat 4.8/5. - Zen Jewels
