With a patchwork of influences (Siouxie and the Banshees, Echo & the Bunnyman, Sonic Youth, Led Zeppelin, New Order and My Bloody Valentine) and by fusing elements of post punk, shoe gaze and psych rock, Vela Eyes produces an ethereal and aggressive soundscape. Front woman Florie Maschmeyer delivers powerful vocals and dreamy synths while Julia Johari adds harmony and rhythm guitar. Ian Zazueta create a unique soundscape as lead guitarist while Meredith Brion, on bass, and Andy Niven, on drums, hold down a driving rhythm section.
