Bio

Stellar storytelling and raucously fun live shows have earned the shoeless gentlemen of Vagabond Philosophy their reputation as superb, high-energy musicians.

Place yourself sometime in the 70s, listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd, when all of a sudden Bob Dylan walks on stage to play along. Take the grooving southern communication you would then have and sprinkle on the likes of Mumford and Sons from the hills modern mainstream power and youll have an idea of the musical journey these wanderers will take you on. An unexpectedly strong musicianship spreads across six instruments, as jazzy basslines pair with indie rock drumbeats to create an especially tight groove from a pre-dominantly young rhythm section. Drummer Dalton (Metronome) Read paces through a vigorous attack of bpm and signature changes as bassist David (Ready) Cervetti layers on the groove with his own form of funk reminiscent of a young Alex "Dirk Lance" Katunich. A shockwave of acoustic glory fires all throughout this array of emotional ballads and driving poetics, as frontman Bradley Poyner directs his band with the perfect blend of eye contact and strumming madness, often choosing the fast pace of his mandolin over the swooning acoustics of his guitar . All the while, electric teardrops ripple out from William Adams Stratocaster acting as both the thorns and petals of their songs as they flower into rich, passionate music, except for those times when he chooses to remind you of his southern roots, plucking his banjo with steel-dressed fingertips . Donning an intensity so perpetuating of their crowds, Vagabond Philosophy consistently leaves crowded rooms full of sweat-drenched fans screaming for more.

Known for a surprisingly professional demeanor, the ability to turn any room into a foot-stomping party, and an insatiable lust for pushing the boundaries of genre-crossing and multi-instrumentalism. Relentless practicing and songwriting have lead well over two powerful albums worth of material in just over a year. Through four lineup changes a sound perfected by influence has risen to the top of what can only be called a cauldron of creativity.
