Recently the broski TwonDon opened for Meek and here’s what it looked liked. - Emilio Sparks (Shade 45/Wrassle Rap)
It's rare to get a submission your truly blown away by, as the influx of music today is unlike any other point in history. So, obviously when something comes down the pipeline that makes you step back, it makes you wonder about the future.
Brooklyn born, New Jersey bred emcee TwonDon did just that last night. I had never heard of the rapper before, but after a short tweet and a few Facebook chats later (praise social media) I was linked up with the 19-year-old musician, stoked to share his new video for "Life's a Bitch".
Antwon Jarell Gibbs shows potential, being that his style is strikingly similar to the great Nas. He's been hard at work, performing at intimate venues across the Northeast, opening up for other artists such as Meek Mill, French Montana and Machine Gun Kelly. In my opinion, the talent displayed in "Life's a Bitch" has the sound that could blow them out of the water.
If you've followed my articles here on EARMILK, I am a huge advocate of lyrical hip hop. Just as the video starts, you're forced into that 30 seconds of wondering how the outcome will turn out. Just in time Twon opens up a string of bars that will melt your face off, paying homage to the classic story told by the Queensbridge legend on Illmatic long, long ago.

Drew: This kid’s dope. He needs to keep rapping. If he stops, the world will become a slightly shittier place.
Fred: Solid, actually. Love the sample and these guys kind of know what they’re doing.
Kim: This song makes me want to listen to “Round The Way Girl.” No bad thing. - Noisey Music
TwonDon releases his latest visuals for his track “Stay Golden.”
It’s UpperClass or nothing for New Jersey’s TwonDon in his latest visuals for his track “Stay Golden.”
The up-and-comer, sporting his Basquiat vs. Andy Warhol Tee, spits about staying strong, mentally, within the game, his Upper Class squad and patience paying off in the long run.
The Pablo Picasso-directed visuals are direct and simple as he captures the visions Twon paints with his words in his latest black and white visuals.

Bio
Musician, songwriter and entertainer, TwonDon, has been making waves in the music industry since his launch as an artist at fourteen years old. Brooklyn born and New Jersey raised by mother Gloria Gibbs and step father Robert Jennings, TwonDon was heavily influenced by hip hop throughout his life, traveling with his mother, a concert promoter, around the country with artists such as Keith Murray, Redman, Lil Jon, Fabolous and more. TwonDon turned his inspirations into hard work, as most young boys went out to play, TwonDon stayed home, writing lyrics. While still in middle school, he recorded his first song with producer Joey Mekka at 14, and to date, has released five mix tapes.
At just 19, some of TwonDon’s most successful songs have been featured on radio stations such as 92.3NOW, Hot97, Hot97Boston, and received recognition from artists such as Lloyd Banks, Waka Flocka, Nick Cannon, DJ Bobby Konders, and DJ Jazzy Joyce among others. His most successful song to date was ‘Green & White’, a remake of Wiz Khalifa’s ‘Black & Yellow’ but devoted to the New York Jets. After getting recognition from Jets’ players, the song went viral and hit 400k views before YouTube pulled it off for being a remake.
In the era of internet celebrities, TwonDon consistently communicates with his fans through social media. To ensure they get the full TwonDon experience, he performs at intimate venues across the Northeast and has opened up for other artists such as Meek Mill, French Montana and Machine Gun Kelly.
TwonDon’s past successes don’t get to his head, and since graduating High School, he’s focused on his music full time. For TwonDon, 2013 seems to be the year all his hard work will pay off. He’s been placed on Video Music Box, hosted by Ralph McDaniels, for a hip-hop cipher and featured on World Star Hip Hop, Emilio Sparks and The Source Magazine.
As if TwonDon isn’t busy enough, he started a line of t-shirts, The Gallery USA, and entertainment company, Upper Class Entertainment where he has his own director Pablo Picasso and producer Tato Luchiano as well as a few artists.
