What Are Your Goals In The Music Industry?
My goals in the music industry is to bring by the classic lyrical hip hop from the 90s. That feel good, conscious, lyrical rap that made you think, gave you a different perspective on a topic, and was relatable. That’s the legacy I want to leave in the industry.
What inspires you to make music?
My inspiration for making music is the need for wanting to leave a positive impact on people’s lives. I want to be that voice of conscious that keeps pushing for what’s true and what’s real.
Tell us about this project?
MY new project, The Donation, will be out July 7, 2015. This project is and introduction to the new and improved Troof Music. I took a break from writing but I am back and this is my truth I have been living since I have been away.
What makes you different from other artists?
My style of delivery and my writing ability. I am more than just a rapper or lyricist, I am a writer first. I have written songs and hooks for other R&B artists.
Who were your musical inspirations growing up?
Definitely Outkast because of their attitude showing you it was cool to be different. More recently than that, Ryan Leslie. He is just an all around talent.
Are You Working On Any New Projects?
Currently working on my next project, no title
What artist do you sound the most like?
If I had to pick an artist it wouldn’t be just one. I would say a mix between Common, J Cole, and classic Kanye West

Bio
Born and raised in Shreveport, LA, Troof gained a love for the art of rap and lyricism at the age of 16. His older brother was a local rap artist and was well known around his community so there were big shoes to fill.
At the age of 19, Troof joined a local up and coming hip hop group named Good Fella Crew. They released their debut mixtape in 2010 which allowed them to promote the group all around the Texas and Louisiana area. This generated a buzz for themselves via YouTube videos and as well the local hip hop market in their hometown.
By 2011, the group decided break away to allow each member to pursue their own solo projects. Being a part of the brotherhood of the Good Fella Crew, the group also featured on each other’s mixtapes which kept a piece of the "Good Fella Magic" alive. Troof dropped his first solo mixtape, which is available on bandcamp.com, Glad 2 B Slept On, in December 2011 and it immediately flooded the streets. People were intrigued by his hip hop style and east coast flow that came out of this southern lyricist. Being from the south, this was next to unheard of.
In April 2012 Troof teamed up with local rapper "JC" and released "Memoirs of a Black and White Nation" also available on bandcamp.com. This mixtape brought a new swagger to the young MC. It was political but playful, lyrical, witty, and only enhanced the “gentleman-like” style and flow we are used to hearing from the lyricist.
His highly anticipated EP, “The Donation” is currently available for download, streaming and purchase on all digital media outlets.
