Bio
Trielement is an instrumental trio fusing rock, blues, jazz, and funk
into an eclectic soup of sounds. The band goes back to 2007 where
Kenneth Booth (guitar) and Dave Roberts (drums) met at a book store to
discuss forming a band. Later, the two would go on to put out a solo
album under Kenny’s name, called “Spectrum”. In 2009, the band became a
trio with the groove-oriented and creative, Joey Lafferty,
on bass. Trielement has been building their musical resume ever since.
They opened for international band, “The Aristocrats” (Guthrie Govan,
Bryan Beller, Marco Minnemann) in 2013, and Nashville bassist and
composer, Sean O'Bryan Smith, in 2014. Trielement has been described as
having a “highly entertaining live show”, “instrumental music that keeps
your attention”, and as a “tightly ran progressive trio.” Trielement is
preparing for a whole string of shows for the summer and fall of 2014.
Individually, the guys have varied and extensive backgrounds. Kenny
studied at Marshall University and attained a BFA in Music Performance.
His background ranges from classical to rock, and has a special talent
with incorporating blues undertones. Joey comes primarily from a
self-taught background and is a highly respected bassist among his
peers. Joey’s sense of groove, subtle textures, and knowing how to play
for the song allows him to stand out. Joey currently studies under
master educator Chuck Biel who has produced several well-known artists.
Dave is a trained and seasoned drummer with an extensive background in
jazz and rock. He maintains and endorsement deal with Soultone Cymbals and Silverfox Drumsticks.
Over the past two years he has had the opportunity to work as a drum
tech for Marco Minnemann (Aristocrats, Steven Wilson, Joe Satriani) and
Todd Sucherman (Styx/Neil Zaza). Dave has guest-hosted the Mike Keneally
Band and did some tech work for drummer, Gregg Bendian. Also, he has
sessioned for Nashville bassist and film composer, Sean O'Bryan Smith.
