To be a great rapper you have to be one fifth musician, one fifth interpreter, one fifth academic, and two fifths poet. So many artists can’t do this equation, and what’s worse is that modern hip-hop encourages that ignorance. Fortunately, there are some artists out there that have the talent and knowledge to do the math and get on that path to hip-hop greatness. One of those artists is T*Merk. - Hypetree

"...T-Merk, is quickly rising as the premier lyricist in a city, a state that has been patiently awaiting it’s opportunity to show what it is really about on the world stage." - Hoodgrown Magazine
"Birmingham, Alabama's own T. Merk is burning up the southern music scene with his laid-back country vocals over classic hits. Merk, real name Terrence Merkerson, has what's been described as a “cult-like” following..." - Hip-Hop Wired
"T*Merk could be classified as 'real' Hip-Hop music because of his jazzy, more Philly soul sound. A mix of Digable Planets and Common (back when he was Common Sense), with a hint of De La Soul, T*Merk's new project 'Animal House' puts him in a different lane from many in the hip hop genre these days." - I Am Entertainment Magazine
"T*Merk's latest album, Animal House, is classic..." - Skope Magazine

It is from this environment that an artist unlike any other that has ever come from the Magic City.
