"Press Reviews"

Singer/songwriter Tim Mann’s The Tim Mann Expedition disc - a superb testament to the timelessness of excellent folk/rock. Mann’s original tunes display elements of Roger McGuinn, Cat Stevens and Neil Young ballads, and his version of Gene Clark’s “Spanish Guitar” is hauntingly reminiscent of the original version. Tunes like “Lover’s End,” “When I’m With You,” “King’s Castle,” “Til Tomorrow” and “Yesterday’s Crime” will have www.fufkin.com readers hoping that Mann treats us to a sophomore release sometime soon. http://www.fufkin.com/

Tim Mann (who featured an excellent cover of Gene Clark’s “Spanish Guitar” on his last full-length CD) has just released a terrific four-song CD-EP - Hillside Sessions. Mann sounds alternately like Gene Clark, Gordon Lightfoot and Steve Wynn. The tunes fall into the acoustic folk-rock genre, with some light alt-country and Americana brushings. http://www.fufkin.com/

Tim was a great opener for the evening and got the crowd going with killer rendition of the Beatles song "Its' Only Love" with his friend Russell Chudnofsky on guitar. Tim set the level very high and I knew I was in for a great night of ukulele entertainment. http://www.jazzukes.com/

Tim Mann then took the stage. Tim has a sweet voice and does some very sweet songs. This time Tim was theoretically solo as Greg Hawkes, his usual uke-companion did not think he was going to be able to make the show. Fortune intervened though and Greg not only was able to attend, but also joined in with Tim for a few numbers. Craig Robertson also joined in for the final song. http://www.ukeapalooza.com/

Greg Hawkes and Tim Mann: this talented duo writes new songs for the ukulele with a pop/rock flavor and a twist of irony. Greg, originally the keyboard player for The Cars (a nationally known band in the 1980s) also adapts some of their familiar hits, and you’ll be amazed at how two hardworking ukuleles can do the job of drums, keyboard, bass, sax, and guitar! http://www.foresthillstrust.org/uke.html

"Chasing Dreams"

Saved by the press! Well, not really, but just in time for my solo CD release show at Stubblebine Lutherie this Sat 2/6, my CD ‘Chasing Dreams’ got a glowing review in The Noise! check it out here:
TIM MANN

Chasing Dreams

11 tracks

The acoustic folk/ rock sound on this release is unique, interesting, and very good. Check out the artists and their instruments in the credits: Greg Allison – acoustic guitar/baritone uke, Greg Hawkes (The Cars/ The Greg Hawkes Ukulele Trio) – uke, Zachariah Hickman – bass/euphonium, Lawrence Scudder – viola, Craig Robertson – harmonies and Tim Mann on all other instruments and vocals. Mann also plays the ukulele with Hawkes in Greg’s own string uke trio. Very interesting reading on the cover. Even more interesting listening to the disc. Mann wrote all the ballads and there are lush harmonies all over the place. Listen to “In My Arms,” “Days Go By,” and “The Maybe Song” to hear the angels sing. I also like the more rocking “You Can’t Go Home Again,” the mellow “Longing” with the soulful viola, and the cool uke/viola playing on “Another Moment.” Sorta like the youthful optimism of John Denver meets the storytelling soul and delivery of Donovan. Great stuff. Check it out. (A.J. Wachtel)

Tim Mann is a singer-songwriter who performs on guitar and ukulele. Performing in Boston since the mid 90s, Tim writes songs that come from the mellow yet moody environment that has housed the likes of George Harrison, Elliott Smith and Alex Chilton.

Tim’s latest record, 'Silver Sun' tells a fractured fairy tale of a queen named Alice who lives in a land that is cast in the glow of a silver haze that keeps the people scared and sad..Will the real Sun shine through and keep them safe from their worries? Created in a dreamy atmosphere of guitars, strings and harmonies and brought to you from Once Upon a Time.....

Tim will be performing the album in its entirety along with songs from his last record, 'Chasing Dreams' with his band at The Burren Thursday October 3, 2019
