"Asylus Holiday Show 2017, Chain Reaction, December 13, 2017"

It was time for the Asylus Holiday Show at the Chain Reaction, and this year certainly brought out the very best in local acts – as well as one special guest collective The Mirage Theory from Puerto Rico who nearly blew the roof off the iconic Chain Reaction with an absolutely explosive performance. This would be the first in a series of shows for both Asylus and Til Skies Fall, who would hit the road on what would be a successful tour throughout several states.

In addition, other notable locals opened the Asylus Holiday Show, starting with Return In Red, kicking off the auditory party with a top notch set of post hardcore anthems. They’ll be working with guitarist extraordinaire Brad Jurjens on a new recording soon, so be on the lookout for that!

Every Other Year unveiled an exhilarating performance of high energy alternative metal that captured the imagination of the Chain Reaction attendees, followed by a massively intensive live presentation from the melodic groove metal brigade Quietude. Each and every one of these opening bands are well worth seeking out and you can bet that Highwire Daze Online will be revisiting these exciting bands in the New Year.

Til Skies Fall
The main event was now upon us, and Til Skies Falls enraptured the room with a thrilling selection of tunes. And what a vibrant show this up-and-coming band unleashed upon the Chain Reaction!

Til Skies Fall is fronted by the dynamic Danielle Musitelle, whose exciting stage presence and wildly versatile singing really makes the listener stand up and take note. One does not expect such ferocious screams to emit from the same girl who also sounds quite angelic when clean singing. Danielle is such a charismatic performer, and brings each and every song to an ultra-vivid life.

Victor Molina and Anthony Reyes shred on guitar, sending the room spinning with a combustible wall of sound. And the hot and heavy rhythm section is presented to you courtesy of Mario Amaya on bass and Colin Ring on drums.

Opening their set with their recently issued 40 Years To Rise single, Til Skies Fall went on to unveil crowd favorites such as Final Thread, The Answer, and It’s Not Easy Being Green. Til Skies Falls is one of the best kept secrets in the SoCal music scene, ready to break out into the big leagues. With tours such as their recent excursion with Asylus, expect to see this hard working collective take on the nation on an epic way in the New Year!

Asylus
After a devastating performance from surprise booking The Mirage Theory, Asylus would make their way up onstage for a gloriously profound headlining performance. Asylus definitely has plenty to celebrate as 2017 spins to its conclusion. In addition to what would soon turn out to be a triumphant holiday tour, Asylus just released a brand new EP entitled Clarity upon the world at large. Opening with Hindsight is 20/20 – the first cut from the Clarity EP, Asylus proceeded to enrapture the Chain Reaction with a vibrantly memorable performance.

Asylus possesses not one, but two superbly commanding front men – Tyler Casanova and Naz Munoz – both extremely talented and passionate – presenting each and every song with a massive sense of urgency and conviction. The wondrously sonic guitar artistry was unleashed via Erick Pastrana and Jacob Ortiz, delivering the goods in an epic way. The rhythm section was infinitely thunderous and intriguing, featuring the supreme performances of Mel Torres on drums and Davon Harper on bass. And just when you thought you couldn’t fit any more talent onto the Chain Reaction stage, Danielle Musitelle of Til Skies Fall would join Asylus for an electrifying collaboration.

After a brief hiatus, Asylus has returned with an all-out vengeance – complete with a blistering new EP and compelling live show to back it all up. Be on the lookout for Asylus within the upcoming months, as they are ready and willing to explode onto the national music scene like never before.

"Til Skies Fall, Afterlife, Chain Reaction, November 11, 2017"

Til Skies Fall
The Hikari Tour made its way to the Chain Reaction in Anaheim, featuring the rock solid bill of Oceans Ate Alaska, Invent Animate, Dayseeker, and Afterlife. Opening the sold out show was So Cal’s very own Til Skies Fall, whose exhilarating set definitely warmed up the crowd for a rapturous night of superbly heavy post hardcore reveries. Til Skies Fall is a female fronted metalcore band who are really beginning to make a name for themselves within and even beyond their Los Angeles/Orange County home base. Certainly an opportunity to reach a whole lot of new fans, Til Skies Fall made the very most of the opening slot on The Hikari Tour and would receive various mentions from all of the other bands throughout the night. Opening with their recently issued 40 Years To Rise single, Til Skies Falls instantly caught the attention of the early arrivals, and proceeded to play a short yet wondrously captivating set.

Vocalist Danielle Musitelle is quite a dynamic talent – whether she’s singing with the sweet ease of Hayley Williams from Paramore or screaming like a possessed Alissa White-Gluz from Arch Enemy, Ms. Musitelle enraptures the listener with a gloriously fierce performance. The impressive guitar interludes are brought to you courtesy of Victor Molina and Anthony Reyes, searing through the venue with a ferocious sense of conviction. The right on target rhythm section consists of Mario Amaya on bass and Colin Ring on drums. Other songs unveiled by Til Skies Fall included Submerged, Final Thread, and Show You – all clearly showing a band ready and willing to bust out of the Chain Reaction in nothing short of an epic way. It will be interesting to see what the future has in store for Til Skies Fall – if their live show is indicative of greater glories ahead, expect to be hearing a whole lot more from this up and coming band in future days ahead.

Afterlife
A band rabidly entering the radar of music fans all across the nation is certainly Afterlife. Earlier in the year, Afterlife issued Vicious Cycle, their earth shattering debut EP for Stay Sick Recordings – a label owned by the one and only Fronz of Attila. Playing their first ever show at the Chain Reaction, this compelling Florida-based outfit won over the jammed to capacity crowd with their imaginative combination of nu-metal and post hardcore. Tyler Levenson is a commanding front man who really knows how to convey the scorching lyrics, reeling the audience in for the devastating sonic entreaties ahead. Also featured are supremely tight and inspired performances from each and every member of the Afterlife brigade.

Selections such as Pain & Pleasure and Catalyst were absolutely explosive, resulting in some superbly intensive pit action early on. With performances this intense and well received, it won’t be long until Afterlife find themselves headlining their very own tours. Expect 2018 to be an exciting year for the Afterlife collective! In the meantime, be sure to catch Afterlife and the entire Hikari Tour when they show up the plunder your town!
