Thugmuffin

Texas raised rapper/ songwriter/ director Thugmuffin wastes no time letting her audience know exactly whats going on in her head with her out of this world lyrics and somewhat punk rock delivery. She has two modes, extraterrestrial stoner taking you on a psychedelic journey and mosh pit monster bringing you the grimiest beats/ vocals that will certainly make you feel like starting a fight. Regardless of what mode she's in, her lyrics will keep your ears pinned the entire time. 

Thug started life in Los Angeles, CA until her family got evicted from their home at the age of 7. After spending a year homeless and couch hopping they left everything they knew and started a new life in Crowley, Texas where her father completed bible school and became a minister. Due to her families religious beliefs Thug never went to grade school and wasn't allowed to listen to any music outside of gospel which caused her to spend a great deal of time alone writing poetry to keep her entertained. She says that Kirk Franklin was her first introduction to anything remotely related to hip-hop. She was majorly inspired to continue writing at 15 after reading 'The Dead Emcee Scrolls' and watching Indie film SLAM both by Saul Williams. However Thug didn't start writing music until 2018 when she linked with artist/ producer Daht.soul who strongly encouraged her to turn her poetry into music after watching a visual for a poem she wrote/ directed about a series of abusive relationships. 

Together they made her first single 'PUFF' which caught the attention of many LA producers and artists such as west coast rappers Show Luciano and Bearcap. Together the three released the single 'Bad Habits' prod. by Jessegotbangerz (MOZZY, Hitta J3). Thug has two new visuals set to release this fall. One for her down south grime single 'UGLY' and one for 'Ain't That' feat. Indiana rapper Lil Ugly Toes. She also recently teamed up with New York trap king Firemanbands to collab on her upcoming single UPWIME.

Thug is inspired by a mix matched group of artists from A$AP Ferg, A$AP Rocky, Kid Cudi, Lil Wayne to alternative rock legends Led Zeppelin, Queen, Tame Impala, Bjork and The Flaming Lips. Together she says it is the perfect blend of rockstar magic.
