Born on March 10, 1990, Thraeyce is a young & talented artist who makes eclectic and captivating music. Having changed her name several times as a little girl, she eventually decided to stick to the name Thraeyce, inspired by the character Kara Thrace from the 2004 reboot series Battlestar Galactica. After gaining massive success on her debut EP “Love Today”, Thraeyce is ready to put out more amazing music!
Thraeyce recently released her latest single this year, in 2020. It is a powerful track, which is in collaboration with the French beats genius AVLIN. Thraeyce has nailed it with this masterpiece of a track, with perfection and excellence. This project perfectly defines the artist’s personality and rhythm, which she has beautifully encapsulated in this recent release. Thraeyce is the author of several compelling tracks, like “Ascendant”, “Love Today” and “Goldenchild”, but her latest track “F*ck It up!” is a notch ahead than the rest of them. This song is a perfect amalgamation of upbeat energy and free-flowing lyrics.
Telling about her plans in the field of music, Thraeyce says, “I’m heavily into Alt-Pop, Nu-Disco, EDM and Future Bass right now because it’s keeping me in that #PLUR mindset, but I am branching into Electro Swing with an upcoming album on the way, along with a Dark Pop compilation I’m calling “Gaslight”. I love haunting refrains and melodies, walls of sound, and MASSIVE builds/beat drops. I want my songs in movies and series about the future, especially, because I see my music as forward-thinking. I want my life’s lessons to help Gen Z stay hopeful and Millennials to stay focused on everything that is at stake right now. I think the world needs us more than ever right now.”
Thraeyce is deeply inspired by Pink Floyd, along with other artists like Peggy Lee, Rosemary Clooney, Stevie Nicks, and Ella Fitzgerald. Music has always been a part of her life ever since she was a child when she used to sing along with whatever resonated with her, whether it be showtunes or Scorpions. If there was a choir, she was in it!
Thraeyce feels that it is extremely important to highlight everything that is going on around the world right now and help people gain a better perspective on the situation. She believes that her story can help people out of loneliness and emptiness, and fill them with positivity. She is currently working on her upcoming project which is about ‘leaving the normal behind’, and showing how to create a better world.
You can listen to Thraeyce’s music now on Spotify, Apple Music & wherever music is sold!

Born on 10 March 1990, Katharyn R. King is an actress, singer, writer and director. From an early age, she enjoyed acting and singing and soon earned such familiar roles as Dolly Levi from Hello, Dolly! Miss Hannigan from Annie, and Adelaide from Guys and Dolls. Miss King acted in more than seven main stage plays, competed in several theatre competitions, stage-managed six school productions and most recently, one professional ballet with Center Stage Dance Studios based out of Corona. She is most widely recognized for her performances as Miss Meyermyer from Lindsay Price’s Christmas parody, Deck the Stage, Martha Dobie from the controversial Hellman tragedy The Children’s Hour, Hecuba from Euripides’ The Trojan Women, Ruth from Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit, and Lettice Douffet from Peter Shaffer’s Lettice and Lovage.
Preferring character roles to straight ones, high comedy to low, it is no wonder that she has a flair for both classical and contemporary English plays. The summer before her terminating year in secondary school, she enlisted in the United States Army Reserve for personal reasons. Unable to depart for Basic Combat Training until she graduated from school, King continued her studies in Advanced Theatre Arts under the auspicious of Theatre Director Meridith Stempinski.
A graduate of Centennial High School in Corona, California, King left her alma mater sporting High Honours for Academic Excellence as well as Honours from the International Thespian Society for Outstanding Excellence in Theatre Arts, and has accrued over 2400 hours of acting and technical experience and training in this field within the span of three years. Katharyn also served as Secretary/Treasurer of ITS Troupe #5004 her senior year. She received the 2007 and 2008 Most Promising (Junior and Senior years respectively) Award from the Centennial High School Theatre Department, the Presidential Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence in Theatre of 2008, and the 2008 Bank of America Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Drama. She has also penned a play of her own, which is entitled The Broken Spirit, Blind.
An avid writer, she is also known for her prolific authorship of over thirty short stories to date and her collection continues to grow. Some of her more famous stories are “Elise,” “Lessons Learned While Falling Off the Earth,” “Painted Blind,” “Erasure Complex,” and “Apart.” Along with short fiction, King’s poetry has attracted much acclaim as well, earning her the 2008 New Jersey Live Poets Society Topical Award for her poem “Penury’s Song” and the International Society of Poets Editor’s Choice Award for both “Penury’s Song” and “Vitals.”
Although accepted to Richmond University in London out of high school, financial hardship compelled King to enroll at the California State University in San Bernardino, California where she spent her first college term majoring in Theatre Arts with an Emphasis in Theatre Education and a minor in French. She became an active member of Players of the Pear Garden, San Bernardino’s Drama Club, and was the only freshman to be cast in Dr. Terry Donovan Smith’s production of Moliere’s The Miser in November 2008.
Again, a longing to return to a life of civil service incited King to return to her duties in the military, this time on Active Duty. She served in the Army’s Military Intelligence Corps as a Cryptologic Linguist and has just returned to California from Australia to pursue a career in Theatre. She most recently appeared in a production of Pride and Prejudice, directed by Chuck Ketter.
The Review:
I met Katharyn through a mutual friend and I was immediately impressed with her character, passion, dedication and drive. Kat is a multi-talented lady and a US Army veteran. I loved this interview with her and enjoyed listening to her tell her story. Kat is such an intelligent person with many gifts.
She told me about her early family and how there was pain but how she really held on to her sister as a source of peace and serenity. She explained about her time in the Army as a Cryptologic Technician or IP Tech and all the intricacies of being in the military including a few regrets about our military.
Her best time in life was how she grew up with her father watching Star Trek Voyager and how she connected with him. But most of all, it was Captain Janeway (played by Kate Mulgrew) that shaped who Katharyn would become. Her music is a extension of her soul and her artistry in rhythm is only a small part of Katharyn’s character.
She’s a poet, lyricist, writer, among her many talents. I loved her new single: Nothing on This Earth. It’s surreal, peaceful and gives you a sense of calm. So, sit back, listen to my interview with Katharyn and see why I believe this lady is someone to watch as she grows in life, passion and her love. Speaking of, she’s gay, proud and is engaged to her fiancé Rachael. - The Hollywood Times
If there’s one thing that can be said for sure about Thraeyce‘s newest record, it’s that the album name does absolute justice. This exceptionally multifaceted, versatile and electronically infused 7-track juggernaut is a futuristic album that enriches each listener with a hypnotic listening experience full of twists, turns, and atmospheric textures.
“Multifaceted” utilizes several eclectic genre blends that tastefully include touches of Pop, Alternative, and all kinds of electro-goodness; conjuring a signature sound that is wholesome, detailed and captivatingly catchy to contagious levels. “Run” is a more-than-solid opener that could be reminiscent of a more modernized Annie Lenox while still keeping the originality out in the forefront. “Let There Be Love” has an insatiably catchy chorus that really jumps at you and dynamically showcases Thraeyce‘s musicianship factors from many angles. The production value is very technical and encapsulates an ambiance that concentrates diligently on balance and composure, giving the listener a sense of nostalgia from earlier electronic influences, but still touches on equal parts originality and familiarity; bringing together a collective of songs that is freshly innovative in its approach, but also sustains an identifiability that provides a trademark vibe.
The banger on this record is definitely “F**k It Up,” a song that has a buildup of intensity heard rarely in today’s EDM spectrum. It has a video game pacing and Kill Bill kind of package that still manages to provide beautifully textured melodies underlying the track. The relentlessly smashing beat and gang vocals will have you chanting along with this song any day of the week, and the multi layering in all the right places is a component that truly makes this track a real gem. It’s a furiously quick fix that satisfies in full and really comes out swinging once it really gets going. You won’t walk away unhappy after blasting this one in your Sony Xplodes.
“Study” is hypnotic and beautifully crafted in a way that combines vocal melodies and effective synth progressions. It puts a finely tuned mood and unwavering lyrical passion all in one place that comes together in an aura that can really create a visceral listening experience. Meanwhile “Renegade” and “Here For You” are more upbeat and melodically focused throughout more of the instrumental measures both songs articulate. They’re comforting songs that close out this record with enticement to delve deeper into Thraeyce‘s career both past and present, but definitely looking into her future releases as well. Overall, “Multifaceted” really raises the bar when it comes to electronic music mixes and all the production components that are required to compose, create, manifest and innovate with tastefully clever ideas that resonate with fans of the genre. In whole, Thraeyce successfully achieves that feat and so much more with every track this record offers. “Multifaceted” is available now on Spotify, Apple Music and several other digital music streaming platforms. You’ll thank us later for recommending it. - Artist Reach NYC
thraeyce is an Army veteran, science fiction writer and indie filmmaker. She and her fiancée live together in Southern California with their 2 cats, Orange Julius and Phatty and listening to her music it is clear to see her ecclectic influences play a major role in her music. On the song ‘Renegade’ track starts with an electro ispired vocal intro which really spells out in all certain terms what to expect from the rest of the song. The songwriting is on top form and you find yourself hooked from the first few seconds. By the time the chorus kicks in, you realise that you are listening to a masterpiece reminiscent of the first time you picked up an Oasis album. The song really captures the feeling of what it was like to undergo this part of history. Future generations to come will always look for material within research that documented what people went through and the song is a quick reminder that things were tough and people really went through nightmarish situations to come out on the other side. ‘Fuck it up’ reminds us that we can always go above and beyond the confines of our mind and there is much more that can be achieved if we think outside the box. Just remember once you give permission to your mind to take you far away, it is more than evident that there has to be a triggering of imagination to reach higher heights. If you think you, can achieve but if you imagine and hold on to your imagination with both faith, action and conviction then the world will be your oyster. “Let’s go renegades, let’s go renegades” is the call to action before the heavy bassline dubstep drop totally shows you why the song was named ‘Fuck it up’.
Her take on ‘Nothing on Earth‘ flows seamlessly with a style which is more melodic on the single with chimes, acoustic guitar and bell like sounds introducing the song leading to a much more eclectic sounding arrangement. The songwriting, production and vocals again on Nothing on Earth is one that will seat perfectly on any radio dial. thraeyce knows how to tell a story with her singing and songwriting in a way which makes you feel the sense of urgency. Talking about urgency and footsteps leads quite nicely to ‘Run’ which even has something of an orchestrated quality, but it bubbles with a modern sheen thanks to its electronic music leanings. thraeyce is an amazing performer, singer and songwriter with substance who’s worth watching and hearing whenever you can. By the time i get to ‘Goldenchild’ i am already a big fan and it sort of makes sense where thraeyce was rushing too, combining the traditional sounds of electro/dance/rock music to deliver a more dramatic and general ear-catching song with an amazing piano lead. The production style brings the song’s synths and guitar into total sympathy with the music and vocals threading its way powerfully through the track.
The possible breadth of thraeyce’s music and appeal is immense. Listeners old and young alike will find some basis to relate to the songs or else understand the enormity of the experience. Born Rachel Anne King on 10 March 1990, thraeyce has been calling herself variations of the name Katharine since she was a little girl. Inspired by strong women like Katharine Hepburn and Kate Mulgrew, she decided eventually to commit to the name change legally, and has never regretted it.
An avid sci-fi lover, King says the reason why she chose artist name “thraeyce” is because she’s often been compared to actress Katee Sackhoff, who played Kara Thrace aka Starbuck in the 2004 reboot series Battlestar Galactica, and since she connects deeply with the character so much more having served in the military herself, she thought it fit perfectly.King has such an ardent love for so many different types of music, every genre and era imaginable that she couldn’t resist diving in and creating eclectic compilations, bringing back some familiar sounds that pay homage to the legendary artists who’ve come before her.

We managed to catch up with thraeyce for an interview..
What inspired you to get into music?
I’ve always been a singer, dancer and all-around general artist. Music was always part of my childhood and youth. It’s a core facet of my identity. Influences: Pink Floyd, Peggy Lee, and all the greatest jazz musicians who ever lived!
How would you describe your music?
I would describe my music as alt-pop because it’s very eclectic.
What would you say is your recording and song writing style?
I’m not sure I know what my recording and song writing styles are right now. I have ADHD, OCD and PTSD, so there are several barriers that affect my creative process. Ultimately, I have a mic, a Mac and a fire beat and I improvise the majority of my vocals by simply listening to and vocalizing to the beat to “find” the melody or create one. That’s if the beat itself isn’t something I composed and mixed myself. I love to collaborate with other people, it brings me great joy to come alongside fellow artists and glow up together instead of competing.
Where would you like to see your music career in 5 years time?
Within 5 years’ time, I’d love to be in a pro studio with a full-time music career going and millions of dedicated fans who are aligned w/my values and overall message.
Where can music fans listen your music?
My music can be found on over 150 music streaming platforms and stores, including Apple Music and Spotify! You can even tag my songs in your TikTok vids and Instagram Stories. - Camden Monthly | UK

Bio
Known for her unique way of blending of monochromatics with vibrant hues, as well as her catchy, eclectic and futurepast steampunk vibe, breakout alt pop renegade Thraeyce was once a high school teacher and soldier in the United States Army. She eventually decided that singing and writing were the only things she’d ever really wanted to do (aside from making movies, of course) and this point, could do. So, having already been laid off, she decided to cast all inhibition aside and JUST. DO IT. Sometimes pretty, sometimes gritty, thraeyce lives through her music and allows her lived experiences and memories to guide her creativity as a musician.
She’s multi-talented, multi-faceted and ready for the next mix! Aside from being an Army veteran, science fiction writer and indie filmmaker, thraeyce & her fiancée live together in Southern California with their 2 cats, Orange Julius & Phatty.
They are avid gamers and are always looking for new match buddies!
