...tough as nails, rockabilly-infused punk rumblers..."

Taking their musical cues from the Ramones and Social Distortion, the Mondelos blast out raw, unapologetic Texas punk rock with more than a little roll and just a hint of country-fried twang.

Bio
The Scary Mondelos began in Austin, Texas in early 2005. Over the past 13 years, Texas' hard charging bullet to the head of stale and uninspired music has proven to be anything but another average band.
Led by a frontman with a voice that rivals the grittiest of old school punk singers and searing guitars that seem to tell their own tales of heartache and hard times, this band has captivated audiences across America and beyond.
“It’s all self therapy,” says Ramon, the man behind the songs, “everyone goes through rough shit in their lives, and my music has always been there to help me forget about my own problems, even if it’s just for a little while.”
In 2008, self released Dive Bar Deluxe album, introduced the band to audiences outside of Texas. Cuts from that album can be heard on two indie films, including one that featured Shakey Graves as the bassist for The Scary Mondelos. “I couldn’t think of a better person than me to play myself in a movie,” Ramon said of his acting debut, “it was an experience that sparked my love of filmmaking.”
“Dive Bar” was sent to Kevin Lyman, the founder of the Van’s Warped Tour, in 2009 and he personally called and invited the band to play on his Kevin Says Stage which was the second biggest stage on the tour, next to the main stage. That brought even more notoriety and street cred to the band. Alternative Press magazine named the Mondelos as one of the bands to watch on the 2010 Warped Tour.
The next few years saw the band streamlining their shows into fewer, but bigger events. They hit the stage with bands like Swingin’ Utters, Nekromantix, Far From Finished, Three Bad Jacks, Koffin Kats and many more. As a matter of pride, they even turned down a show with Godsmack.
2018 has moved the Mondelos to San Antonio. “San Antonio has always been great to us, but it did mean finding some new band members. As it’s happened for the last 13 years, I didn’t have to look for very long to find musicians,” says Ramon of the move.
The Scary Mondelos are survivors. They have managed to avoid burnout through hard work and constant motion. Their music has a soft spot in the hearts of those who remember the old days of punk rock and the younger generation of rockers who just want to forget about the their lives for an hour and watch a great band own the stage.
