Audric Rose

Born and bred in Mississauga, Ontario, Rap Artist, Songwriter & Audio Engineer Audric Rose possesses the talent and passion to turn heads in the music industry with his charisma, appeal and dedication. He began working on music 6 years ago out of his basement. Now, at the age of 24, Audric stays busier than most in the game – collaborating with local artists and producers and working on his next “EP” scheduled to be released this year.

Rose was accepted into The Remix Project in 2012, a program with national recognition for producing fresh and exciting young talent. There he had the opportunity to team up with some of Toronto’s music veterans, as well as the best up and coming producers in the city. Rose collaborated with music producer DJ Agile, the backbone of hip-hop super group BrassMonk; music engineer Hagler, who co-produced “Furthest Thing” on Drake’s newest album; and the renowned Wondagurl, a producer and musical prodigy who landed a credit on Jay Z’s album Magna Carta Holy Grail.

Crushing the stage around the city, Rose has performed at events and venues including the Sound Academy, Empire Night Club, “The Known Unknown” and Revival. Known for an energetic live show, Rose quickly gained the attention of both his fans and music industry players (or insiders) as being one of Toronto’s up and coming entertainers. His thought provoking lyrics and storytelling abilities often draws comparisons to J.Cole and Kendrick Lamar.

Formally known as “Shocka”, Rose decided to change his name in 2013 to Audric Rose. Always challenging the art form and tackling a range of topics in his music, Rose wanted a name that would reflect his artistic range and growth as an artist. Adding a personal touch to his name, he decided to use Audric, his middle name and one that means “Noble Wise Ruler” and Rose, his late mother’s middle name. Rose’s mother always believed in his talent and the name was a way for him to carry on her legacy and keep her close while he takes this musical journey.

Not afraid to tackle subjects like love, hate and self-empowerment, Rose brings his realities and life experiences into the mainstream with him on his first “EP” since the Remix Project and name change. The new album, titled “Limitless”, will hear beats from one of hip hop’s newest young prospects, Francis “Got Heat” Nguyen. Rose and Nguyen met at the Remix Project and quickly formed a musical bond, realizing that together they could be the next power duo coming out of Toronto.

Constantly pushing the envelope and thinking outside the box, Rose’s taking his craft to new heights. With his debut album on the horizon, Audric Rose’s ability to tell stories, relate to his fans and make them think and look is the stuff that rap legends are made of.
