The Original Splitz Band

The Original Splitz Band.  The band name derives from a band called The Common People Band that Split into 2 different bands. Hence, The Splits Band name came about under formal manager of the Splitz Band, the late Dennis Graves. Kelvin Barnes formal drummer for the Band decided when doing flyers for the band to drop the "s" and add the "z" to draw more attention to the band name. The Splitz Band members met from being talented musicians playing locally together on various gigs with various bands, and local church groups. Recently "Original" was added to the band name due to other bands with close to the same or very similar names to The Splitz Band.  The Original Splitz Band consists of A drink of Motown, Funk, with a blend of R&B!  The lead vocals and some of the musicians have performed & recorded in the genre of Gospel Music and have graced the stage with well known Gospel artists such as The Grammy Award winning Sensational Williams Brothers, Stellar award winning Dottie People's, Grammy nominated Luther Barnes, the pilgrim Jubileees, Joe Ligon and The Mighty Clouds of Joy, The truthettes, Jackson Southernaires, etc, to name a few.  The Original Splitz Band will rock any event from Weddings, Festivals, Party's, to Full Concerts, and more!  The Original Splitz. Band has 5
to 6 musicians on stage (2 Keyboardist/vocalist, 1 lead guitarist/vocalist, 1 bass guitarist/vocalist, 1 drummer).  The band adds horn players upon request.  The Original Splitz Band loves to perform and travel and believes in keeping the dance floor smoking!! AND WILL DO JUST THAT!!  The soulful vocals warm the heart, mind and soul!
