Alas For Those That Never Sing

A sort of bio for The Michael Ferrari, an Avant-Americana band

The world is nuts. So much large-scale craziness forces a boy to focus on what he can influence at a granular level. The only things he can hold on to are his internal identity and purpose in life.

This realization is what motivates The Michael Ferrari to write. There are two personal responsibilities that TMF owns passionately.

1) Know thyself. What does a man have to say to the world with any relevance if he doesnt have any idea who he is?

2) Die empty. TMF love this quote:           

Alas for those that never sing,

But die with all their music in them!

Nay, grieve not for the dead alone

Whose song has told their hearts' sad story,--

Weep for the voiceless, who have known

The cross without the crown of glory!

So many grown up boys fall prey to our societys call to live to the lowest common denominator. They never sing. They never play. They never engage their own children and teach them to do the same. The Michael Ferrari exists to shake it off. They sing songs with a purpose of helping to inspire hope for the future, sometimes by calling the present what it is Bullshit, less than good, the bare minimum.

Better is within our grasp.

The Michael Ferrari are a five piece band based in Lancaster County, PA. The band is comprised of brothers Michael Ferrari (Vox/Guitars) and Peter Ferrari (drums), bassist Chris Jakubowicz, guitarist Jason Sherman and James Byers, tickler of the ivories. The best description of the bands sound is Avant-Americana. Its a sort of pop-infused, electric guitar cowboy music.  If Harley gangs rode horses theyd listen to The Michael Ferrari.

The Michael Ferrari have just released their debut album, When Youre A Man. Its a genre-bending journey into the confused psyche of the Modern Domestic Man. There are fourteen tracks and each one is unique but still fits in to the greater musical theme.
