The opening act with Jimmy Lehoux was outstanding.
I felt the instrumentals in the Charlie Daniels band were too loud for the arena. The band was so loud you couldn't here Charlie's voice.
Favorite moment: Jimmy's performance
Opening act(s): Jimmy was great. He's the one I would pay to see again. - Ticketmaster

"Jimmy Lehoux Shakes It Up From Coast to Coast"

Rising country star Jimmy Lehoux and his music are shaking things up from one side of the country to the other.

Nashville, TN (September 27, 2010) – Rising country star Jimmy Lehoux and his music are shaking things up from one side of the country to the other. Jimmy is the SingerUniverse Magazine’s Best Vocalist Of The Month for September. The Studio City, CA based publication chose his performance on the song “Even When It Rains” from hundreds of songs crossing all genres of music. SUM’s editor, Dale Kawashima, describes Jimmy’s vocal performance on “Even When It Rains”, from his as yet unreleased CD Thirteen, as a “rich, soulful performance” and describes the song as “a graceful, midtempo ballad which has a classic country feels reminiscent of George Strait and Randy Travis”.

Meanwhile, back on the east coast Lehoux and his band walked onto the stage at The Big “O” (the Oxford Fair) in Oxford, ME for round one of The Country Up Band Challenge, faced off with four other bands, and walked off as the night’s winner! Just three days later, on Sept 18th, they returned to the same stage to face five more bands, a table of judges and thousands of people in the grandstands. At the end of the night, like a heavy weight fighter victorious at a rematch, Jimmy and the band once again walked away again the winner, this time the recipient of the $25,000 first place award.

“This was a great opportunity to get a bunch of wonderful talent together from across the country. Jimmy Lehoux put on a great show and certainly deserved to leave in first place,” said judge Corey Garrison, the music director of powerhouse country radio station 99.3 The Wolf. As the accolades continue to roll in, it is clear that many people believe just as Garrison does - Today's Country

"Jimmy Lehoux's CD "Thirteen" Released"

With an impressive resume that includes opening spots for the likes of Charlie Daniels, Alabama, Little Feat, and more, Jimmy Lehoux is an artist that is primed and ready to take on the country music world and “Thirteen,” certainly challenges what has become typically known as the country music mainstream. Lehoux set out to create an album that is influenced by the tradition of country music, but at the same time make it modern enough to attract attention and create his own distinct sound. By using some of Nashville’s biggest songwriters including Brett James, Mark Nesler, and Tony Martin, he more than achieved the modernized, traditional, sound. With the upbeat “The Way Things Are” Lehoux will have your boots clicking off the dance floor, but that’s not where this album truly shines. Those songs are fun and make you move but his lyrics as you dig deeper into the album are those that country music is all about. Great stories about everyday life and living fill the album. “The Waiting Room,” features a lyric that focuses on waiting in a hospital waiting room as a loved one is fighting to hang on, while on a track like “Discovering You,” Lehoux takes an upbeat approach to a catchy lyric about walking down a path of mistakes that eventually lead you right to that special someone that you were destined to meet. With solid lyrics, a distinctive drawl to his vocals, and a modern enough style in the music, Lehoux has created a solid effort that will easily attract attention from the traditionalists and the country music fans of today. - Today's Country

"Vocalist of The Month with "Even When It Rains""

Jimmy Lehoux, a talented country artist based in Manchester, New Hampshire, has won the September SingerUniverse “Best Vocalist Of The Month” Competition, for his performance of the song “Even When It Rains” (written by Tony Martin). "Even When It Rains" will be included on his upcoming album, Thirteen, which will be released at the end of this year or in early 2011.

“Even When It Rains” is graceful, midtempo ballad which has a classic country feel reminiscent of George Strait and Randy Travis. This song has an easy-going style which is pleasant to listen to, and it provides a fine showcase for Lehoux's rich, soulful vocal performance. "Even When It Rains" was expertly produced by Tom McBee of Nashville, who produced all the songs on Lehoux's album.

Lehoux was born and raised in Manchester, NH. When he was nine, he started to perform as a lead singer in church, and he also learned to play guitar. Lehoux was inspired by listening to such favorite artists as George Strait, Kenny Rogers and Ronnie Milsap. "Even though I grew up in New England, I knew early on I loved country music and wanted to sing and write country songs," recalled Lehoux.

Following high school, Lehoux attended Rivier College in New Hampshire for three years, but he then decided to focus fulltime on his music career. In 1999 he recorded his first album Born On The Tracks, and he moved to Nashville in 2000 to develop his songwriting and establish contacts. However, in 2003, he and his wife Kate decided to move back to Manchester to start a family.

Jimmy Lehoux

"I still commuted back-and-forth many times to Nashville, and things picked up in 2006 when I met producer Tom McBee," explained Lehoux. "Tom and I started to work together on an album, and we decided that this album would feature great new songs by top Nashville writers. So we were able to get terrific songs by such A-List writers as Brett James, Ken Bell, Tony Martin and Liz Miller."

Lehoux's new album Thirteen has now been completed and is ready for release. However, due to interest from some major labels, Lehoux and his manager Gary Crane (of Capital Productions) are currently deciding whether to release this album independently or via a major label.

In the meantime, Lehoux continues to perform steadily with his longtime band (Scot Gibbs, guitar; Greg Gagne, drummer; Vinnie Marisola; fiddle & steel guitar; Jared Williams, bass & vocals; and Al Gagnon, keyboards). The band has opened for many stars, including Charlie Daniels, Alabama, Little Feat, Marshall Tucker Band, Phil Vassar and LeAnn Rimes. Notably, Lehoux & band also opened up for Kenny Chesney at Gillette Stadium in - Singer Universe

Bio

Jimmy Lehoux is that rarest breed of country singer one with style and substance. One who is determined to make history, not just repeat it.

Though his life is steeped in the traditions of country, Lehouxs music is stamped with his own unique style. He honors the past, but refuses to live in it and that is why he continues to push the boundaries of country music forward, creating an exciting new blend that is as emotionally potent as it is commercially appealing.
That is just what you would expect from this iconic, straight-talking, did-it-his-own-way kind of cowboy. Hes the kind of singer who didnt have to think twice about making a living playing country music. Thats because country music has been an integral part of his life since before he could talk, a fact that is even more impressive considering he was born and raised in New Hampshire.

Whether it was fate or perhaps a calling, Lehoux was destined to be a country music singer and songwriter and his story and musical journey began almost at birth. By the time he was three, he was singing songs along with the radio. He got his first guitar at age nine and began performing in his familys church. At sixteen, he recorded six songs in a Nashville recording studio and shortly after the New Hampshire Country Music Association named him the Youth Male Vocalist of the Year. Jimmy continued to win awards and garner critical acclaim as he formed a band and began taking his home state by storm.

Jimmy Lehoux and the Lehousiana Boys packed clubs and earned a reputation for a ferocious live show. Jimmy soon began getting calls to open for country music and rock legends like Alabama, Charlie Daniels, Pam Tillis, Little Feat, Marshall Tucker and Molly Hatchet to name a few.

After years of nonstop performances, Lehoux took a break to cut thirteen new tracks in Nashville with producer Tom McBee. Jimmy describes the project saying, "For this record we wanted to stretch the limits of country music to create a very distinct but very traditional country sound. We wanted to find a blend of something really commercially viable, but still different enough to help the music stand out". Producer McBee relied on years of working closely with artists and with radio to help Jimmy capture the frenetic, explosive energy of his live shows and mix it with ballads and narrative story songs that engage the heart as well as the mind.

McBee tapped some of Nashvilles best songwriters to find the seamless blend of old and new on "Thirteen". Gems like the Jimmy Buffett influenced Twenty Toes In The Sand (Tom Stipe/Liz Miller), the potent ballad Turn Off My Heart (Ken Bell/Charles Quillen) and other great songs from Brett James, Tony Martin, Mark Nesler, Nathan Woodard and others. Thirteen is track after track of great songs from a singer at the top of his game and comfortable in his own skin.
