"Review for XLV"

Kolton Anderson (XLV) is one of the most well rounded up and coming artists in the game. He has a variety of different sounds, styles, and multiple combinations of different styles of music put together to make a never heard before sound. Ex: DONT DO DRUGS. This song was simply made for fun however it ended up being the start to something much bigger. An experiment that combined aspects of trap, rap, and tech. XLV also has a variety of music so listeners of all different styles may find him interesting. Whether you are interested in rock, rap, tech, pop, or even just something funny, XLV is the man to look for. In my opinion I would say he has very great potential given the right circumstances. A record deal and better equipment would take this artist to a whole other level. The vocals, the beat, and the overall sound are simply a whole new branch of the music industry. He has potential to change the future of music. He has a sound that not many people if anybody has done before. - Nathan Andreas Clifford

The Hyperpop/Breakcore album will release on August 22nd under Final Submission Records.

Part 2/The B Sides will release on August 29th.

"Free Candyman"

Free Candyman by KOLT45 is a deeply personal and experimental hyperpop album that reflects a journey through emotional upheaval and artistic evolution. Originally recorded between December 2023 and August 2024, the album underwent significant changes following the arrest of XLV’s stepfather, which influenced both its title and themes. The tracks blend aggressive, chaotic production with introspective lyrics, capturing a mix of rage, defiance, and vulnerability. Released in two parts, the album is marked by its eclectic influences, from breakcore to the sonic intensity of Kanye West's Yeezus and Food House.

The creative process behind Free Candyman was complex, with tracks like "Barbie’s Crackhouse" and "T-Girl Anthem" evolving from 2023 demos. The album's production, primarily done in XLV’s home studio, reflects an experimental approach, pushing the boundaries of genre while maintaining a cohesive narrative. The release was carefully timed, with part one dropping on August 22nd, 2024, and part two on August 29th, coinciding with significant personal dates for XLV. The album’s release was supported by a live performance at the BLACKOUT party in Atlanta and a test review session on Discord, where fans got an early listen.

With music videos for key tracks like "Barbie’s Crackhouse," "E Tu?," "heavy metal," and "ACK!!!" set to release on September 1st, 2024, Free Candyman is not just an album but a full-fledged artistic statement, reflecting XLV’s raw, unfiltered vision and the emotional turmoil that shaped it. The album’s influence is a testament to KOLT45's ability to blend personal experiences with experimental music, making Free Candyman a standout project in his discography.
