Bio

Named one of Paste Magazine’s “12 Michigan Acts You Should Be Listening To Now”, The Crane Wives are an indie-folk outfit that have been making waves in the midwest since 2011. They utilize three-part vocal harmonies, with a blend of folky acoustic and rock-n-roll electric instrumentation to support lyrical, organic music that is both accessible and innovative.

In the past year they’ve opened for acts such as The Avett Brothers and Lake Street Dive, were featured by Michigan Radio prior to their latest  release, “Foxlore”, and have been the recipients of several local accolades such as the WYCE Best Rock/Pop Album of 2015 for their third album “Coyote Stories.”

The band has toured the US extensively to promote their four full-length albums, “Safe Ship, Harbored” (2011), “The Fool in her Wedding Gown” (2012), “Coyote Stories” (2015), and “Foxlore” (2016). Notable venues include Electric Forest Music Festival, Daytrotter Studios, Rhythm N’ Blooms Festival, Mile of Music Festival, and Wheatland Music Festival.

The Crane Wives are happily endorsed by Deering Banjos, GHS Strings, and Godin Guitars.
