The Boiled Owls are an original, stringed quintet based out of the Lehigh Valley in Eastern Pennsylvania that plays a variety of folk, bluegrass and Americana music. Comprised of five-string banjo, two acoustic guitars, upright bass and mandolin, The Boiled Owls deliver a unique sound by infusing traditional bluegrass roots with elements of contemporary folk.
Since its inception in 2012, the band has been playing relentlessly throughout the Mid-Atlantic and has been making a strong presence in the festival circuit and beyond. While the Owls put the primary emphasis of their work into songwriting, you will catch the band recreating classic hits, performing them in their own rendition.
On February 18, 2015, the band released its debut, self-titled EP that was recorded throughout the winter in Hatfield, PA at The New Cranky Workshop. The album can be streamed/purchased at www.theboiledowls.com
