1. In my opinion, a good front person (in an original or cover band) has to commit to the role completely, be an inspiring leader, have love for and mean it in every song he or she performs, have charisma and can engage an audience, have good confidence onstage with an occasional degree of nervousness prior to performing, have endurance and boundless energy, and must be generally fearless. Also must treat every show like it’s a big show even if seven people show up.
2. I definitely have an on-stage and off-stage persona, and I kick into stage persona when I step onto the stage–although I have some crazy nervous energy while we are setting up, internally, until the moment of the first beat of first song starts; that on-stage persona usually lasts until I leave the venue.
3. Currently, I handle all the booking and promotion.
4. Currently, I am the one who calls the band together for practice, meetings, recordings, etc.
5. Before a show at a club, I enjoy a beer and a water because they are very refreshing and soothing. Unfortunately, I am unable to digest food before a show.

“Tequila Mockingbird's Luck and Trouble 2010 Review Accessible alt pop that isn't weird! Praise be to the music gods for bringing us songs we want to hear over and over again. A versatile female vocal fronts this band who didn't just learn their instruments last week. I'd hate to meet "Actual Size" in a dark alley. From the flat evil-sounding vocals to a sinister guitar, this one makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. In a good way. There's a kitchy wah-wah guitar on "Blue" that cranks to screaming as the song progresses and ... wait for it ... a bass solo that doesn't suck. "La Carta" is kind of a ska gone crazy with a horn section that glues it all together. I'm still singing the first line of the chorus "I don't care if you write me a letter." And might I add, I do care that y'all keep making music.”

The opening track "Blue" recalls the jam band feel of Santana with bluesy guitar riffs. But that vibe ends when the song ends—this album has far more than blues. The heavy "Actual Size" uses grunge-y guitar chords and deep, grumbling vocals from the frontwoman. The album takes a turn to country on "Luck And Trouble," which incorporates skillful slide guitar. Giving the record even more diversity, songs like "La Carta" and "Wrong?" sound like old ska-punk bands like Save Ferris or Bif Naked with horns, guitar distortion, and an upbeat tempo. Luck And Trouble gives the listener an album that showcases a variety of genres. The Wendy Clark Band is a Denver-based original rock band that has evolved from Tequila Mockingbird. Wendy Clark is the lead singer, songwriter, rhythm guitar player, promoter, and co-founder for Denver-based alt-rock band Tequila Mockingbird (1996-2011) and The Wendy Clark Band (2011-present).
Active on the Front Range music circuit and indie scene since 1996, Wendy is a singer, composer, rhythm guitarist, bandleader, independent-recording artist, manager, and promoter. Her music is classified under roots-rock but adds a unmistakable, playful voice and infectious melody combined with modern philosophic meanderings and “been there, hated that” themes mixed with a twinge of nostalgia, lyrically-guided and guitar-driven, thoughtful, catchy, powerful, and kept fresh by delving into multiple genres, and WCB promises to knock the walls down with new technique and creative freedom.
Wendy has released three critically-acclaimed, full-length CDs under the Tequila Mockingbird moniker, has performed over a thousand festivals and gigs regionally including A Taste of Colorado, The Adams County Fair, The CHUN Peoples Fair (1998-2013), toured in the Rockies into Wyoming and through New Mexico, appeared on live television and radio (Denver's Channel 2 Evening News on The Deuce, KRFC FM in Ft Collins, and 1190 AM in Boulder), released dozens of videos (The Honeymoon and Catching On receiving tens of thousands of views on YouTube), and opened at sold out shows for favorite bands such as Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, The Samples, Rob Schneider, Chris Daniels and The Kings, warming up for Tim McGraw at Fiddler’s Green, and sitting in with The Refreshments and Chris Daniels, as well as collaborating and recording with The Refreshments guitarist Brian Blush and bassist Rob Squires of Big Head Todd and the Monsters on UFO (1998).
Wendy has worked with award-winning sound engineers/producers Eric Shiveley (Alien-American 2004) and Bill Thomas (UFO 1998, Luck and Trouble 2010) as well as multi-GRAMMY recipient, David Glasser. The band is in the studio with engineer Jim Roberts, working on a new EP due to drop in 2018.
The band is available electric or acoustic - and alter into a duo, trio, or four piece band.
