The Vitral Saxophone Quartet combines the forces of professional New York Based saxophonists, Oscar Gongora, Roman Filiu, Alejandro Rios and Oliver Santana. Their goal is to demonstrate the beauty of the saxophone by focusing on a largely unknown, yet rich and colorful repertoire of Cuban and Latin American composers. This chamber music quartet was formed with the encouragement of the legendary classical clarinetist, Latin Jazz saxophonist, composer, and 14 time Grammy winner, Paquito D' Rivera. VSQ displays a group that understands the nuance of the saxophone and how it has a place in modern chamber music. Their sound adopts the motion of flight to fascinate, comfort and inspire.
