Unconventional and eccentric in musical form, the sophisticatedly sinister The Red Masque fuses together such disparate musical references as progressive rock, art rock, experimental, heavy rock, gothic, psychedelia, space rock, and horror movie soundtracks. Part art, part alchemy, the group's experimental songwriting style is both angular and eerie, featuring smart songcraft, dark and heavy mood swings, and lush sonics. On their new album, Fathomless, the band dives full throttle into metal, jazz, avant garde , psychedelia and prog rock, sometimes in the space of one song, but always in an engaging manner. Cerebral lyrics and dynamic and accomplished musicianship take The Red Masque to another musical level.
