Bio
The Outlandos is a live tribute to The Police. We play all the hits and many songs they did not play live as well.
We are a 3 piece band, set up the same way The Police did.
Rich, playing the role of Sting, plays from his position on the left of the stage, Derek, as Stewart is mid-stage at the rear on drums, and our Andy, playing Andy Summers is on the right. Andy and Rich also have bass pedal controllers, adding the deep Moog bass sounds, and strings and synth sounds that went into many songs.
You will often find Rich bouncing around on stage, as Sting did in the heyday of the Police. Andy fills out the difficult and lush guitar parts, and adds many of the string sounds with the synth. Derek plays with a precision and some abandonment, as Stewart did, and still does.
We offer an opening slot set, a shared-gig 90 minute set, and we cater to the tribute night shows, often featuring 2 or more tribute bands. We play all the songs people would know by The Police. You might even see the "The Beat" muscle shirt !!!
