The Normandies

In 2020, stuck at home with his long forgotten guitar, Sam Wood started writing songs. He drew on his own experiences as a Pastor’s son and his career in music, and started writing songs about the changing power of Jesus Christ and a legacy of Faith. 

As the music kept coming, Sam’s vision grew and he knew he needed help to round out the sound. Enter Kathy Justin and Andrew Montgomery. Friends long before they started playing music together. Andrew was an accomplished collegiate drummer with a quick ear and creative riffs. Kathy Justin was a musical prodigy, learning piano from her father and singing in countless bands and singing groups. Kathy picked up the bass and provided the anchor the band needed to flourish. 

The three met in the small Protestant church on Normandy road, and in 2021, Sam Wood, Kathy Justin, and Andrew Montgomery started a band. 

The Normandies make Christian country and rock music. With only a guitar, bass, and drums, the band makes big music with a big message. Find Jesus, He’ll change your life. 

The Normandies are a Christian, country twinged trio from Detroit, MI. Bassist Kathy Justin, drummer Andrew Montgomery and guitarist Sam Wood, formed at Emmanuel Bethel Church and preform there regularly. Their music is Americana from a Jesus followers perspective.
