Founded in New Jersey, The Godlings find their major inspiration in a shared belief that all people are blessed with a creative spark. They push forward toward this truth through aggressive three piece guitar rock, echoing Cream and Nirvana. Their lyrics are psychedelic poetry, exploring broad themes like human kindness, astral protection, and the principle of cause and effect. Their sound has been described as "the offspring of pop and punk if it was raised by Bowie".
