Bio
The Conversation began in 2014 with Rene Minniefee and Saxophonist Issac Brown. Their music bends and intermingles genres including blues, jazz, Rhythm&Blues, alternative rock, and alternative country. The array of musical influences and genres are woven together through The Conversation’s guitarist and vocalist Rene’ Minniefee who writes all the songs on the album. Rene’ Minniefee has a distinct storytelling edge to his lyrics that harken to blues and country music genres. The stories of longing, desire, loneliness, loss, and love are ones that many can relate. The defining textures provided by the band through guitar, and saxophone enhance these stories. Perhaps most telling about the complexities of their music is the range of various musicians that have influenced and inspired the band members. These include Roy Orbison, John Coltrane, Stevie Wonder, Rickie Lee Jones, Joni Mitchell, Al Jarreau, The Beatles, Dave Matthews Band, and Chris Whitley.
