Telco – performing at 4pm at the TD Community Stage
This synthy rock group from Michigan ranges from jammy riffs to harder rock paired with soulful singing, creating a great sound you don’t want to miss. We’re actually pretty bummed they’re playing so early since we won’t be able to catch this show. - Posted by The El Vee
This Ann Arbor-based act is all over the alternative spectrum, from keyboard driven pop numbers to sensitive acoustic guitar-backed songs and heavy electric guitar based jams. Why aren’t they on tour with Interpol this year? - Metro Times
According to their bio, “Telco is a creative Indie/Rock/Pop band from Detroit, MI, initiated and led by Carl Greene. The bands sound comes from a wide gamut of influences drawing anywhere from memorable 80's new wave pop hooks to high energy punk inspired rock.”
“Apocalyptic Kiss” manages to stay on the outskirts of all those descriptions. There are definitely 80’s influences, and no lack of energy, but overall the track is haunting and downtempo. Keyboards and gently-buzzing guitars whirl and glide to a drum beat that builds until the final acapella ending phrase. It could be the soundtrack for an Edward Gorey-inspired romance. - Erik Jarvis
Telco - They may sound like a company you’d reach out to if you’re having problem with your dialup connection, but they are far from it. They’re actually a band with a great indie rock sound that brings Florence + The Machine to mind once again. - NICK GORRIE, ARTSQUEST MARKETING
