Bio
Tae Phoenix has garnered international attention from critics and fans alike with her “tremendous” (Blues Magazine), supple and achingly passionate voice, and her “elaborate and educated songwriting” (Woodbangers).
Phoenix hails from both posh and gritty venues in the buzzing new music hub of Seattle, WA. She has been composing and performing for over 20 years and has appeared everywhere from the legendary Paramount Theatre to the streets of Montmartre.
On her sophomore album “Outside the Lines,” Phoenix makes her burning passion for jazz and the blues readily apparent. “Outside The Lines” showcases how Phoenix has honed her three-octave range by singing opera and musical theatre, but still has that downtown night-time swing. She is an obsessive songwriter, and often accompanies her singing with gorgeous piano playing. “Outside the Lines” was a collaboration with local producer / saxophonist Dave Miner (Julia Massey and the Five Finger Discount) and featured many local guests including Massey, Whitney Mongé, Larson Haakenstad, David Klein (Phoenix’s younger brother), and Ned Beebe.
