Bio
Symphonia is a band formed in early 2013 by Hunter Dollar (aka Arkane) and Jericho Hanley (aka dj.l33t) in Broken Arrow, OK.
Symphonia formed from the ashes of Arkane and dj.l33t's former punk band, Fin De Los Dias. When that band split, Arkane and dj.l33t formed a blues duo and called it Symphonia, and played their first show that night at Tulsa hookah lounge Steamwerks.
That night after the show, they decided to change their style to electronic and both had previous experience in electronic music. Arkane has been producing electronic music since 2007, when he got FL Studio after being hugely inspired by hearing Aphex Twin. dj.l33t has been into production since being in his old punk bands. His love of electronic music came about when he thought about how unique and limitless electronic can be. Both have been dedicated to music for over a decade.
After they formed, they started production of their debut EP, War Pony. When it was completed, they sent out singles to sports talk and independent music promoter DTong from DTong Sports Talk and Music show, and "War Pony" made its debut on his show. Not long afterward, they got with DTong again on his show for an interview and EP feature, including a feature of the single "Gajiggawatt" from their debut studio album Destiny. During this time, they also wrote the Halloween special County Line album, a concept album about a friend going missing on County Line during the Moore, OK tornado.
Not long after the interview, Symphonia brought in Devin Phillips (aka Nocturne). He had previously been in an electronic trio with Arkane known as Kaoss. Nocturne has been DJing for years and is heavily influenced by house and electro. After Nocturne joined, Symphonia wrote "Lylat's Lost Planet," a song that would start the 8bit album 1up.
After writing "DTong (Tweet it To Your Tweeps)," Symphonia wrote the 33 minute orchestral piece "Oppression (Promo)," as a promotional song for their debut album, Destiny. Not long afterwards, they completed writing of Destiny and did final mastering. They then wrote a few singles and began work on their second full length album.
Lately all three Symphonia members have been writing full length albums, all coming out in the summer of 2014. These include Arkane's second full length album Unity, dj.l33t's debut full length album Strive, and Nocturne's debut full length The Doctor, an album inspired by the hit TV series Doctor Who.
Symphonia continue work now on the 1up and Negative Zero albums, and are always looking for live shows.
