Are you tired of the same old thing on the radio? Well, wait no further help is on the way! With influences that run the game from Billy Joel to Biggie, Super Hero Swag’s eclectic style of hip hop infused rock is sure to be a game changer and most of all a hit.



In this digital age of youtube, facebook, and music sharing when musical influences from all over the world are being heard, it seems like the perfect moment for Super Hero Swag to save the world one song at a time. For this interview I sat down along with the members of the group and their producer “Latin Will” Villalona.



First , I want to say thank you guys for the opportunity to interview you. I was given some links to check out your music and I have to say that Wow I am a fan! The first link was to your Youtube video for “On My Way” an upbeat feel good song. Next I clicked on your cover of Tupac’s Thug Mansion. At that moment I knew that I was witnessing something special. It was pure music, no studio or equipment, just raw talent. An acoustic session to me is where an artist really showcases their talent. And as I always say “if the acoustic is hot, the sky’s the limit.” Super Hero Swag: Thank you, thank you! Will: Thank you, that’s exactly what I’ve been saying Tiff! It really showcases their talent.



Who is Super Hero Swag and what are you all about?



Super Hero Swag: We’re 3 guys from different backgrounds. We have Holland Mack, 26, Sean, 24, and Ben, 24. It’s music with a good message, music that reaches people regardless of their ethnicity. It’s not about where you’re from.



Who are your influences?



Sean: I’m into Classic rock, Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Matchbox 20. Ben: I’m influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughn, Kansas, and Billy Joel. Holland Mack: Definitely Biggie, Fab, Jay Z, and Jadakiss. I also was really inspired by mosh-ups like Jay Z and Linkin Park’s duets. It introduced me to more alternative stuff like The Killers. I also like One Republic.



How did you guys get together?



Sean: Holland Mack and I met in Lewisburg, PA. I was playing outside of a café. Holland was a basketball star at a local university. We started jamming together, opened a myspace and attended a Kanye West concert together. Ben and I were childhood friends. Last year we all finished school and decided to start a band together. And then we met Will, our manager/producer.



Do you write your own songs? Will: The guys write all their own songs.



What producers are you working with? Super Hero Swag: “Latin Will” Villalona, Jose “Choco” Reynoso, and would love to collaborate with many more.



If you could open up for any artist who would it be? Holland Mack: The Roots or The Black-Eyed Peas . (Shawn and Ben in agreement)



OK here’s a fun question. Do you have any celeb crushes or someone you’d love to meet? (Group laughs) Holland Mack: Jennifer Hudson. I’d like to sit down with her over a mean and just ask her questions about the industry and how she made it, about her process. Ben: I don’t really have a crush, but I’d love to sit down with Eric Clapton and pick his brain. Sean: Same thing. Not really a crush, but I’d love to talk with Billy Joel. Ok, he’s my celeb crush (laughing).



What can we expect from Super Hero Swag in 2014? Super Hero Swag: The video for our first single “ON MY WAY”. Expect big things, collaborations. Holland Mack: The release of our album “UNIFIED”. Super Hero Swag: Look out for our songs “GOOD LIFE”, “FALLING”, “TURN IT UP”, and “DO IT AGAIN”. Radio movement definitely.



In closing, what does Super Hero Swag want the world to know about them? Super Hero Swag: We want to take the world on a special journey. Will: Super Hero Swag is about longevity, they are not a gimmick.
