"Life is like music; it must be composed by ear, feeling, and instinct, not by rule." This is a great quote from Paracelsus that sums up the way I approach music. My name is Deminicus McKinnon, and I’m a professional music composer.
I started producing music in February of 2004. I only got into producing music because the producer I was working with at the time moved away. So, I bought a Boss DR-5 at the age of 18 and found out I had a serious love for music production. My uncle blessed me with my first laptop and I got my hands on FL Studio 3. I started making music for barbershops in Alabama for radio commercials. That generated a buzz that lead to more local artist to contacting me. I went everywhere with my backpack and laptop.
The creative freedom and watching people react to my music drives me. I feel that music is the only thing I really have full control over with no limits. I believe that we should make music to express and not to impress. I believe music speaks where words can’t. I have a long list of accomplishments I seek. With hard work and determination I will get them.
