Bio

Formed in 2009, Still Kick’n is the successful result of an experiment to bring back “good musicianship” to the live performance covers of Classic Rock’s legendary hits.  The 5-member band’s real magic is the tasteful blending of strong vocals, a great bottom end, tight and dynamic rhythm and leads, and great song selection.  Gerry, on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, brings a realistic and captivating interpretation for a broad range of artists.  John, on lead guitar and back-up vocals, plays smooth impressive leads that sweep you back to an historic era of the most “memorable classic riffs”.  Steve, on bass and back-up vocals, adds the dynamic and intricate bass lines that have become the signature hard-driving sound of the band.  Rich, on electronic keyboard and back-up vocals, tastefully adds his diverse keyboard and sound programming talents that make their covers come alive.  Dave, on drums, provides a precise, seasoned command of rudiments and a wide-range of rhythms that keep the band prolifically tight and rockin’ on every song.  Together they are Still Kick’n, one of the top high-energy bands you will hear live.

A native of Allentown PA, Gerry Badesso started music lessons and vocal training at an early age influenced by Grand Funk, the Stones, Tull, the Moody Blues and Sabbath.  He joined the rock bands Blizzard and Elegant Thunder and quickly developed a reputation as a talented vocalist.  He later joined Bootleg and Home Brew, where his singing and rhythm guitar skills blossomed.  He became very serious about playing guitar and hooked up with an outstanding mentor, legendary guitarist Joe Badelemente.  His mentoring and musical instruction has enabled Gerry to give great stage performances.

Hailing from Allentown, PA,  John Pozzi first picked up a guitar as a teenager after listing to the Santana Abraxas album and never stopped playing!  He has been in a number of bands through the years with Arizona, Crystal Phaze, Kraze, Freedom, Back to Back, St. Croix Band, Phaze 2 and now Still Kick’n.  John is still in touch with band members from the early days and still great friends. He has been influenced by artists like Carlos Santana, Ted Nugent, Jimmie Page, Gary Moore and others… He finds an inner peace when playing and is “transported” to a happy place!!

Hailing from Allentown PA, Steve Badesso started taking piano lessons in 4th grade and trombone lessons in Jr. High School.  It was in high school that he learned bass guitar.  He studied the classic Motown, R&B bass lines and other great players of the day and became widely recognized as one of the top area bassists.  Steve joined a popular area band, Uproar, playing full time for several years.  He traveled the east coast performing at every kind of venue you can imagine.  During his music career, he shared the stage with the likes of Frank Fontaine, Tiny Tim, Bruce Springsteen, The Ides of March, The Drifters, The Coasters and The Platters.  Later in his career, he started a recording studio, Synergy Sound in Westminster PA, recording local musicians, advertising jingles and original music.

Also hailing from Allentown PA, Rich Badesso started piano lessons at the age of 4 and completed 15 years of classical training.  He was influenced by the music of Bob Dylan, the Beatles, the Doors, Procol Harem and Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band.  At the age of 14, he began playing with a succession of semi-pro and pro bands through his early twenties, where performing on a Hammond B3 and a Fender Rhodes was the mainstay.  After studying improvisation, composition and arranging in NYC, Rich became music director at an area church and began writing Sacred Songs and Service Music.  He composed over 75 pieces, published them and became widely recognized as one of the forefront composers in Contemporary Worship Music.  Rich produced and released the first CD of his compositions, “Believe In Me”, in 2004.  Rich sequenced all the orchestral arrangements for his CD on a KORG TRITON STUDIO Workstation, becoming quite skilled at sound programming.

Dave Mohr comes from Emmaus PA and began playing drums at an early age.  He was influenced by such greats as Carmine Appice, John Bonham, David Garibaldi and Todd Sucherman.  Being a classically trained drummer, he played with various area bands over the years becoming quite adept at performing Rock, Funk and R&B styles, adding clean tasteful fills while keeping it in the pocket.  As a seasoned professional drummer, he enjoys playing at local jams with the likes of Dana Gaynor, Eddie Bluestone and Matt Roman, but his real passion is rockin’ with Still Kick’n.
