STEVE BROSKY-ANTHOLOGY UN-DONE consists of 5 CD’s by Steve, which are: HEY NOW; CHRONICLES; LIMESTONE & JAMES; TROUBLE & ANY MINUTE NOW.

Steve Brosky is a huge music ion in the Lehigh Valley and all his years of music shines through it all. People might remember the days of Steve walking around the Parkway in the Robin Hood Dell strumming his guitar and singing. Steve is a true gem in the rough and he knows what he wanted and how to get it. Steve can play every kind of music you can think of and he does it well. Enough about Steve… let’s talk music.

The CD’s were produced by the following: Dan McKinney [Seminal St. Records]; Wayne Becker & Mike Krisuka & Steve Brosky [Bummer Tent Records]. The title song “ANY MINUTE NOW” is very catchy and has all the right hooks where they belong and the story is great to it. “TOO TOO HOT” is also a stand out on the cd. On CHRONICLES the song “IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD” is definitely a stand out about what the area is really about… true Allentown, Pa to a “T”! The song “LICENSE PLATES” is a poke at the jail system and what it could be like….in a reggae type of theme.

“TROUBLE” is another gem among the 5 CD’s…the bluesy, “SHADE OF BLU’ N’ OTIS 2? takes you on a journey of the bayou and relaxing in the juke joints and time for another round. “THE CAMEO” song was taking from the club in A-town with alot of name artists/bands that played there and Steve tells the story as it really was… the Hammond B-3 makes the song stand out like no other.

LIMESTONE & JAMES covers alot of music genres….and it’s done well. “FISTICUFFS” is like a dose of Low Sparks of High Heels Boys…..simple, but yet great. “JULIETTE” is a poppy song which will linger in your head for quite awhile. The classic HEY NOW CD is what Steve first got noted for in A-town. This was Steve’s answer to Billy Joel’s “ALLENTOWN” and the song bought Steve alot of well deserved attention. The song will definitely have you singing along with it no matter your age. A true classic by the man himself. ”DUTCH MOTEL” is a rock song with touches of the ’80’s in it… Debbie Harry would be proud to hear this one.

I’d also like to mention a special thanks to all the musicians in the area that played on Steve’s CD… there are too many to mention. Great job by all of you. Whenever you are in the area, make sure to check out Steve Brosky… he will not disappoint you at all.

On a personal note: I would like to thank Steve for giving me the chance to play my harp on quite a few of his gigs through the years. Hats off to you my friend… never change.

Steve Brosky and Jim Meyer


Steve Brosky could rightfully be called the poet laureate of the Lehigh Valley. For nearly 20 years the singer/songwriter has been documenting life in the area with songs that range from humorous to heartbreaking.

Brosky (right, at left) performs both as a solo act and with his swingin' Big Lil' Band. And since last summer, he has increasingly performed as a duo with Jim Meyer, the Big Lil' Band's lead guitarist.
Meyer has performed in Lehigh Valley and Poconos bands for decades. He also plays in the Staples Trio jazz group, and is lead guitarist for The Difference, the Air Products corporate band. The Difference has played several times at the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame Battle of the Corporate Bands, and won the competition in 2001.

Meyer's amazing lead and slide work contains an encyclopedia of riffs. Combined with Brosky's soulful, rough-tinged vocals they create a full and powerful sound that belies the fact that they play acoustic guitars.

Brosky has trouble describing their wide-ranging repertoire, finally calling it ''Americana'' after prompting from his wife, Renate. ''Originals, blues, Van Morrison, Dylan — when I open my mouth, something comes out,'' he says of their unplanned sets. On occasion, Brosky might even do a song Meyer has never heard.
But, he adds, ''Jim is a versatile player, with jazz, blues and pop licks. No matter what I throw him, nothing gets past him.''

Steve Brosky "Chronicles" - reviewed by Sterling Koch

Steve Brosky has achieved near legendary status throughout the Lehigh Valley and it’s surroundings and it’s just a wonder why he’s never reached those lofty heights nationally. He should. To call Brosky merely a “singer/songwriter” demeans the man’s work. He is a writer of slices of life as seen through the cock-eyed, slightly skewed gaze of a man who’s seen more than you and I might ever hope to or want to. In the tradition of Tom Waits and a deeper thinking Bruce Springsteen, Brosky “Chronicles” life as seen through his own eyes or the eyes of characters he’s known, met or created himself. Cynicism, optimism and humor reside all at once in Brosky’s tales of life. A great American story teller with a twist of irony right here in our own state. Possibly the best thing about Steve Brosky is that he is smart enough to surround himself with top notch musicians, not that he needs to, and humble enough to give them their opportunity to show their stuff. And do they ever! Jimmy Meyer on guitar plays Mike Campbell to Brosky’s Tom Petty and plays the most melodic, toneful guitar solos that always contribute to the song without ever overshadowing it. The rhythm section of John Kacmarcik (bass) and Wayne “Paco” Maura form the perfect “loose”/ tight rhythm section for Brosky’s varied musical styles and Dan McKinney’s keyboards “and everything else” add just the right flavoring to each song. No matter what your musical preference Steve Brosky “Chronicles” is a terrific CD that everyone should own.
