Christine Law, otherwise known as Star Goes Nova, is a master at techno pop music. She has an uncanny ability to find beauty and art where others may not. She says “I follow anything Space and often the Falcon 9 rocket or Hubble galaxy sonifications are in my music. I have majestic baroque Friesian horses, the black feathered Viking horse ridden by knights – there is also a bit of their ancient nobility in the dubstep bass of my songs!” Her new song “Moonlight Beat” gives us space vibes, but also a touch of classical. She uses the piano in this piece in lockstep with the starry, fantastical, and echoing beat. It’s on the slower side, but that’s intentional. It’s not meant to make you get up and pump it like dubstep, but rather put you in a mystical state of mind, a trance of musical majesty and mastery. “Moonlight Beat” is telling a story.
What’s fun about it is the eye of the beholder effect it has. It truly means something different to everyone. Star Goes Nova wants us to connect through music and this song definitely does that. We may not be going through the same story, but we are certainly connected through her powerful electronic music. She says “I’ve always thought of myself as an intrinsic soul, finding meaning in space and time and thought. Music is the magical dimension that connects us all to the real and the unreal. I create epic stories that combine real instruments with electronica, transcending past and future, told through my 115 year old piano, power drums and deep bass music.
It’s truly a captivating journey that she takes us through, both in music and video. Her purpose is to use music to connect us all, and I would say she is successfully doing that with “Moonlight Beat” and the video only elevates the experience. She states, “We are truly epic beings, built from primordial realities and reaching for future worlds. Let’s connect and experience sonic dimensions together.”
These sonic manifestations are empathic spaces to stargaze, gather personal power or share thoughts from other worlds.” “Moonlight Beat” is unlike any other electronic song out there. It tells a story and takes you through a journey. You are put into a musical trance or coma rather than party mode. She really knows how to work techno pop and we hope she gives us more.
From the Artist : “Moonlight Beat” is a cinematic dubstep instrumental composition that visits an alien planet with a moonlit sky. Star Goes Nova’s spaceship travels the galaxy bringing sweet sonic stories to far flung planets. A ribbon of mathematically harmonized notes floats through an alien atmosphere, dancing on moonlight wavelengths. Can you hear the shooting stars and creatures of the regolith? - Live In Limbo
Christine Law, professionally known as Star Goes Nova, dives into the depths of electronica and EDM. She challenges our notions of the genre and takes us to places we never knew we could go. She often uses the Falcon 9 rocket or Hubble galaxy sonifications in her music, which adds a sense of power and movement in her songs. When we heard this talented multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer is releasing a new song, we had to find out what she had in store.
“Earth is Reaching Out” is unlike anything she has done before. She collaborates with Charles Law to create a striking and progressive rock melody shaped by her dubstep and synthesizing rhythm and sound. This song is more physical and sensual than any of her other works as she tries to bring awareness to the change of our planet.
Law shares of the single:
“Star Goes Nova gives a persona to the most alive entity in our solar system, our planet Earth. Earth is a vibrant being, always with us and increasingly in pain. Electronica infused with influences of The Cult, Bono and Bowie weave an outcry to see all the powerful ways Earth is trying to reach us. Star Goes Nova’s signature dubstep beat, ethereal synthesizers and Charles Law’s progressive rock electric guitar becomes the voice of planet Earth crying out that real solutions begin with appreciating what is right outside the window. ” Inspired by the environmental personhood movement and the rivers that have been granted legal rights as a person (Whanganui River, Klamath River, Bolivia’s Law of Rights of Mother Earth and more), Star Goes Nova brings us a plea from the personhood of planet Earth for acknowledgement and love.”
The video for “Earth is Reaching Out” is the perfect compliment to the song, and in Star Goes Nova fashion, she hits it out of the park. The video for “Earth is Reaching Out” is different from her other works. She gives character and voice to Mother Earth. It’s beautiful, sensual, and physical.
“Earth is Reaching Out” is by far Star Goes Nova’s most passionate and empowering songs to date. She uses her creativity to bring voice to the Earth. She never ceases to amaze with her signature dubstep to show beauty, time, and space in the reality that surrounds us. A huge bravo to Star Goes Nova. “Earth is Reaching Out” is available today September 16, so listen in now. - Indie-Music
Debuting today, Star Goes Nova returns with her new electronic and ambient song “Moonlight Beat with Sonic Butterfly.” She spins a sonic tale of an astronaut discovering an ancient castle on a distant moon in collaboration with Sonic Butterfly, a 26 string acoustic, chromatic, long-string harp designed and played by Andrea Brook. The strings are at minimum 60ft long and often strung over 200 feet long, and span out over the audience, transforming indoor and outdoor theaters, buildings, and natural environments into a stunning immersive musical instrument. “It’s like being inside YoYo Ma’s cello,” says Star Goes Nova.
The song is utterly vibrant as she blends Sonic Butterfly’s rare medieval string sound and her 115 year old grand piano creating futuristic rhythms, cinematic synths, and novel musical notes.
“Feel epic! Feel majestic! Take a moonlit walk through a castle with the haunting sounds of an ancient instrument in a future galaxy,” shares Star Goes Nova.
Like always, her music masterfully captures a sense of vastness with the fantasy she creates. The use of the harp is what gives “Moonlight Beat with Sonic Butterfly” a feeling of exploration. She successfully immerses you within her world with her power of musical storytelling.
The artist shares:
“I had the honor of reaching deep into some sorcery to blend Sonic Butterfly’s rare medieval sounding long stringed harp with my 115 year old grand piano. Sonic Butterfly is a 26 string acoustic, long-string harp with strings minimum 60ft long and often strung over 200 feet long, and span out over the audience, transforming indoor and outdoor theaters, buildings, and natural environments into a stunning immersive musical instrument. “It’s like being inside YoYo Ma’s cello.” The technique of melding the unique giant harp into “Moonlight Beat” was an epic feat in itself with Grammy winning producer John Baffa tracking 16 microphones, mathematically distanced to achieve authentic echo reverberations down the length of 60 foot harp strings. I was going for a gorgeous piano, futuristic electronica and an epic party in an ancient castle on a distant moon! This collaboration of Sonic Butterfly and Star Goes Nova just performed at the FASMA Festival in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico with violinist Chris Murphy and celebrated local musician and visual artist Tomas Joaquin Burkey Marambio.”
Star Goes Nova is an ingenious and talented new face in the world of Electro Pop, Synth, and EDM. Showcasing a brilliant journey through a sonic starship, the artist spins moving epic stories with instrumental masterpieces. Exuding a refreshing and unique energy, Star Goes Nova’s music and soundscape underscores a mix that is on the crossroads of Swedish House Mafia, The Glitch Mob and Pink Floyd. Traversing a series of intriguing styles and outlooks, Star Goes Nova depicts an experimental and inventive approach to EDM, through succinct distillation of growing bass tones and a characteristic Dubstep groove.

Star Goes Nova is an intrinsic soul who creates epic stories that combine real instruments with electronica, transcending past and future. She does this through her 115 year old piano, power drums and deep bass music. These sonic manifestations are empathic spaces to stargaze, gather personal power or share thoughts from other worlds.
She finds meaning in space, time, and thought, giving her music another area of musical depth and endurance. She just released her debut EDM and cinematic self-titled album, 'Star Goes Nova." Consisting of 8 original songs, 'Star Goes Nova' has 6 of her previously released singles that are remixed to create a cohesive album alongside 2 new singles, "Phat Barbarella" and "Words and Stardust."
"Phat Barbarella" is the drum & bass and sci-fi inspired single that has a Pink Floyd style to it. Star Goes Nova takes Jane Fonda's 1968 classic Barbarella into a dubstep psychedelic future. Sci-fi synth melodies over dubstep vibes and grime bass release us from gravity as we dance on our starship through outer space.
"Words and Stardust" is a conceptual song that has electronic ethereal music that swirl and layer. "During the pandemic, I started thinking about how so many of us were creating online relationships for connection," she shares. "I kept thinking about how words and imaginations are often the only thing exchanged in an online relationship. Ethereal wishes. So much desire. So much yearning. Unreal. Stardust. I imagined each lover thinking 'You are all my favorite words, but you are stardust, words and stardust. I keep dreaming where we're going, that we have meaning, that we're worth believing. You’re still here and I’m still here and words are everywhere, but it is only stardust.' I wrote this song…. without words, of course, but with lots of stardust." - EthnoCloud
Heating up the Summer in the best possible way
Christine Law, also known professionally as Star Goes Nova, is a unique artist who strives to find meaning in space, time, and thought. She uses music as a tool to connect us all and to tell stories of the past, present, and future. While she takes musical inspiration from the likes of Seven Lions, Leah, Leo Z, Pink Floyd, and Illenium, she also takes inspiration from her persona. Star Goes Nova is a fierce and magical artist who can use music to create the spaces she desires to see. Today the artist premieres her new video and single for "Hazelwood Moon."
“Hazelwood Moon” is a Neoclassical Electronica epic in a far flung galaxy where classical and electronica drift through alien ruins under diamond skies. It’s regolith is an eerie soundscape created with dubstep growling bass and classical orchestral instrumentation and featuring Christine’s 115 year old piano. Making a guest appearance on vocals is psychobilly band Hardsix singer Fuse. Often performing in Las Vegas, Fuse brings an Elvis-like croon into “Hazelwood Moon” for a wistful tale of lost loves. The unlikely juxtaposition of Las Vegas croon, Chopin influenced melody and dubstep rhythm blurs the lines of past and present into a wistful, dreamy trance.
Christine of Star Goes Nova shares:
"In a far flung, musical galaxy where Classical and Electronica drift through alien ruins under diamond skies, "Hazelwood Moon" is an interstellar Neoclassical Electronica Epic. “Hazelwood Moon’s” regolith is an eerie soundscape crafted on a foundation of growling, dubstep bass that soars with classical orchestral instrumentation. Featuring Christine’s 115 year old piano made by Valentin Berdux (who apprenticed at Pleyel - Chopin’s favorite piano) ”Hazelwood Moon” is a hypnotic and other-worldly inspired musical experience. Making a guest appearance on vocals is psychobilly band Hardsix singer Fuse, who often performs in Las Vegas. Fuse brings an Elvis-like croon into “Hazelwood Moon” - a wistful musical tale of lost loves. The exotic juxtaposition of Las Vegas croon, a Chopin influenced melody and growling dubstep rhythm blurs the lines of past and present into a wistful, dreamy trance."
“Hazelwood Moon'' is her most unique piece yet, as it's not what she usually does. It’s more melodic in nature than any of her other songs and we’ve already mentioned the vocals that she employs here. Her intoxicating melody using the piano and strings is like she created a fantasy world. While her previous works created a fantastical space, it was more like an unattainable place, whereas “Hazelwood Moon” feels like you can reach out and touch it. It’s warm, welcoming, and strangely familiar.
The video shows us the fantasy of the song, that it’s a more fairytale song than her previous “City of Angels” as she uses images of pendants, jewels, gold, landscapes of castles and gardens. She elevates the song with these images almost giving us a sense of awe and beauty. She reuses the image of a bejewelled crown being swirled with golden light streaks, that almost mimics fairies, in the shapes of a heart and infinity, like infinite love is the most beautiful thing there is.
Christine, or Star Goes Nova, has given us a piece that unlike anything else we’ve heard from her, or anyone else. It’s a song that creates a fantastical environment, putting you inside your own head while also creating an escape from it. “Hazelwood Moon” is a song that belongs on any playlist. You can listen to it now on Soundcloud and watch it on YouTube. - Indie Source
"It is an utterly gorgeous piece and whether you consider it classical music or electronica, a combination of both or something else altogether is irrelevant. All I know is that the world is a better place for having this in it."

STAR GOES NOVA’S SELF-TITLED ALBUM IS BOUND TO BE AN EDM CLASSIC
Star Goes Nova finds meaning in time, space, and thought. She takes these ideas and turn it into sonic soundscapes and cinematic drum & bass and EDM songs using her 115 year old piano. She’s more widely known as bassist Christine Law in Southern California. She’s toured and recorded with the famous and the obscure, starting her career touring and recording with Martha Davis during her hiatus from the Motels. She often collaborates with Grammy winner John Baffa and platinum selling songwriters Suzanne Paris and David Holster.
She just released her new self-titled EDM and chillwave album, Star Goes Nova. It carries a Pink Floyd meets a Illenium feeling with a lot of ambient space sounds. She follows anything Space and often the Falcon 9 rocket or Hubble galaxy sonification are in her music.
Star Goes Nova features 8 songs: 6 previously released singles and 2 new ones. The 6 previously released singles were all remixed to create a cohesive soundscape of space and sci-fi vibes. “Phat Barbarella,” the first of the new songs, was inspired by Jane Fonda’s 1968 sci-fi film Barbarella. She brings it into the electronica realm with sci-fi synth melodies over dubstep vibes and grime bass that release us from gravity as we dance on our starship through outer space.
The other new single on the album is “Words and Stardust,” which has more of a romantic sound to it. She was inspired by the online romantic connections people were forced to make during the pandemic. “I imagined each lover thinking ‘You are all my favorite words, but you are stardust, words and stardust. I keep dreaming where we’re going, that we have meaning, that we’re worth believing. You’re still here and I’m still here and words are everywhere, but it is only stardust,’ she shares. “I wrote this song…. without words, of course, but with lots of stardust.” - Independent Artist Buzz
Returning with another intergalactic story told through music is Star Goes Nova with “Hazelwood Moon”. Star Goes Nova invites vocalist Fuse to sing on her track as she produces a very sweet and melodic tune. As always, Star Goes Nova flawlessly combines electronic dubstep with classical instruments to create music that sounds out of this world. Star Goes Nova brings in her well-known 115 year old piano to create the main harmonies of the song.
This single, although it has a tinge of eerie, ominous music, is more mellow than Star Goes Nova’s previous singles. This is something far more powerful and engulfing. Star Goes Nova makes something that feels as though we are shifting from past to present on this soundscape journey. “Hazelwood Moon” makes a listener feel as though they are floating through space, able to see and touch all the marvelous and mystical things that float around them. Whereas her other singles seemed to be more fast-paced, this song is much slower, allowing us to bask in the feeling of floating through beautiful beings in space.
The dubstep undertones cast an eerie glow on other words a mellow and wistful song. The classical instrumentation counters the dubstep and adds an air of wealth around the song. Star Goes Nova has done yet another amazing job at creating music that is celestial and attainable. A listener can close their eyes and imagine the world she wants us to be in. We can feel relaxed while also frightened from the past that lurks in the shadows. A heavenly being shares their love with us, which can make us feel wistful towards the love wasted in the past.
Star Goes Nova embraces the strong similarity with Pink Floyd in this single. During their experimental phase, they too made us feel as though we were traveling through outer space. They have darker soundscaping songs and they have some lighter ones. Star Goes Nova combines both the dark with the light in this single. She carries out the dark past, but uses her soundscaping abilities to make us feel lightweight and royal. This song is different from her previous releases, but it truly brings about some deeper emotions within this soundscape. Star Goes Nova’s power to take us to an otherworldly experience astounds us and yet never seems to let us down. “Hazelwood Moon” is a very beautiful piece of art. - The Noise Gate
With music as epic as her industry name, Star Goes Nova does it again with her track “Moonlight Beat”. Immediately the song captures you in a tangle of deep beats and futuristic notes that build up into a bold and brave space symphony. A track that inspires its listeners into a resonating feeling of fantasy and nobility, “Moonlight Beat” is an astronomical audio adventure.
“A cinematic dubstep instrumental composition”, Star Goes Nova transports you onto another world through “Moonlight Beat”. Gorgeous piano mixes itself with celestial instrumentalization and neoclassical electronica. An unforgettable experience, Star Goes Nova is able to take you into a heroic and otherworldly reality.
Entrancing EDM invites you into a universe all your own in “Moonlight Beat”. A track that is made to grace the title track of movie premiers or the intense sci-fi season finale, “Moonlight Beat” is made of epic proportions. Fans of Star Goes Nova will find their new favorite in the track, and new audiences will find their new favorite in this intergalactic artist.
Expertly blending genres into a futuristic masterpiece of her own devices, Star Goes Nova is a powerful artist. A strong creative force to be reckoned with and a musical magician, a beckoning ribbon of harmonic notes entrance Star Goes Nova audiences. Majestic nobility effortlessly intertwines itself among the notes of her songs, and “Moonlight Beat” is no exception – in fact it is the epitome. STAR GOES NOVA REVEALS STUNNING VIDEO + SINGLE
Through her empathetic and intrinsic capabilities, Star Goes Nova lights a fire in her listeners to reach for the stars and beyond. Working with Grammy producer John Baffa, Christine Law reinvented herself from a well-known Southern California bassist to a multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer. As Star Goes Nova, she creates epic Neoclassical Electronica stories that combine real instruments with EDM sonics, transcending past and future. “The Apprentice” is an epic tale for all who desperately search for meaning. Weaving her 115 year old classical piano, power drums, deep bass EDM themes and featuring Disney vocalist Karen Eden, Star Goes Nova gives her listeners a space to find personal power and dream of magical worlds.
Inspired by Game of Thrones and other Viking tales, “The Apprentice” is a Neoclassical Electronica story of a young dreamer searching for beauty and power. Star Goes Nova, aka Christine Law from the Santa Barbara area, is a multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer who masterfully bonds dubstep drums, grime bass and a 115 year old grand piano. Well known on the Southern California scene as a bassist, Christine’s life was changed by her personal battle with the Thomas Fire to save her horses. Being surrounded by flames, she experienced a dimension that merged the real with the unreal and became Star Goes Nova. The melding of her hardcore and childhood orchestra sonic aesthetics was literally forged by fire. Working with Grammy producer John Baffa and Disney vocalist Karen Eden, “The Apprentice” embraces the magical possibilities of symphonic fantasy and EDM to give the listener a space to find their own power and magic. - Indie-Music
Whilst other, perhaps less imaginative, artists are still patting themselves on the back for merging existing genres into new hybrid forms, Star Goes Nova seem to be able to create whole new genres from the ground up. And that is a much more satisfying sonic scenario, certainly for the listener, so I should imagine for the artist too.
Part cinematic soundtracking, part downbeat dubstep, part ambient indie and, in this case, thanks to Fuse’s lead vocals, part timeless crooner balladeering too, Hazelwood Moon is a rich and rewarding affair. Blending the chiming piano and pulsing base that is often the hallmark of Star Goes Nova, to this they add all manner of otherworldly sounds – sweeping strings, groovesome electronica, tasteful and understated riffs, ambient undercurrents and shimmering inclusions.
And to top it off, Hardsix singer Fuse contributes a classic lead line which dances gracefully across the neo-classical vibe of the song, a vocal that sits somewhere between Baroque and a not so hard place.
Gorgeous, adventurous, addictive and forward-thinking…what more could you ask for? - Dancing About Architecture

Star Goes Nova‘s latest release, “The Ocean Between Stars“, is a neoclassical electronica sonnet about the place where souls of our lost loved ones sojourn. Taking inspiration from rock music, EDM, orchestral music, and of course: the stars, Star Goes Nova aims to help connect her audience to the real and unreal, as well as find the meaning in space, time, and thought through music. Mixing live instruments along with electronica and deep bass has allowed Star Goes Nova to create a unique, identifiable sound that resonates with many people. More widely known as bassist Christine Law in Southern California, she’s toured and recorded with the famous and the obscure; credits include hardcore band Tantrum, Theo Mordey (Jesus Christ Superstar), Charles Law & Jagged, Grammy winner John Baffa and platinum selling songwriters Suzanne Paris and David Holster. You’ll hear fantastic collaborations with different artists on Star Goes Nova pieces.
“The Ocean Between Stars” places a melodic piano and orchestral strings at the forefront of the piece. The introduction of the song is quickly followed by dubstep drums and a haunting electronic instrument that closely resembles vocal harmonies. The song in its entirety is relaxing, soothing, and almost reminiscent. With its constant resemblance to planetarium music, “The Ocean Between Stars” brings up memories of elementary school field trips and pointing at the ceiling to a projection of the night sky. The song is accompanied by a visualizer that supports the feeling of the song through symbols and colors. The first scene of the video is that of an abandoned boat on the beach, by the ocean, and a still night sky. Quickly changing to one of the galaxy with bright blue and purple, the scenes continue to portray the narrative and theme of the song all while enhancing the listening experience.
“The song was transfused from an Angel into my brain upon learning a friend was terminally diagnosed with cancer. I was just sitting at the piano, imagining my friend at her favorite beach – the feel of the salt air, the sound of the waves, the warmth of sunlight, and this song came out. I realized so many people were having this experience, and I just wanted my music to provide peace – a place to settle the soul, and know everything was going to be ok. I believe just because a loved one passes, doesn’t mean the relationship ends.” - Stitched Sound
The queen of ambient electronica and dance music debuts her EDM, drum and bass, and chillwave self-titled album, Star Goes Nova. The artist, also known as Los Angeles bassist Christine Law, connects her swirling spirit with her 115 year old piano to create the synths we know and love. She finds meaning in time, space, and thought, often including the sounds of rockets and the stars in her music.
“Phat Barbarella” was released alongside her album. It was inspired by Jane Fonda’s 1968 sci-fi film Barbarella. Dubstep vibes, retro synths and grim bass take the Queen of the Galaxy on her quest for love. Light-hearted and fun, starship travelers party in zero-g. Rarely seen in her videos, Star Goes Nova appears as the astronaut queen leading the quest for party fun through retro psychedelia.
It has a Pink Floyd vibe to it with a big cinematic energy that guides the story. She plays with instrumentation and electronic sounds, which creates emotion in the song, like it’s alive. The tempo is smooth and the beat gets under your skin, like an itch that needs to be scratched and the only way to relieve it is to dance along. - Modern Mystery
