Bio
Spliffs is fronted by Brooke Jazylo, aka Galaexius Quasar, artist/actress/clothing designer/makeup-wizard from the Hudson Valley. Beginning as an electronic project with Jon McCarthy Combining drum machines and programmed synths with jazzy guitar loops and Brooke's smooth singing style, the duo created the first iteration of Spliffs.
In the end of Summer of 2017, Jon and Brooke were asked to assist another local musician on performances where they met Troy Newton. Shortly thereafter the three began meeting regularly and developed a short 6 song demo of jazzy pop songs drenched in effected vocals and the call/response of bouncing guitar lines and quick drumming. They recorded their first demo with Scott White, who played bass for all the songs. The great chemistry between them led them to write a full length - Spliffs - released August 2018.
