"Onward and Upward in Bushwick: They’re ‘Social Creatures’"

"cosmic, new-age disco sound... the same synth-sparked beats that burn through the music of bands like Depeche Mode, New Order and Joy Division—yet with hints of the sounds of 21st century indie rock bands like Beach House." - Bushwick Daily

"Social Creatures Premiere Their Spirited “Nothing Changes” Music Video"

"There are a lot of throwback analog synths and an ’80s feel to it all. But there is also undeniably a strong modern indie presence within. They quite enjoy conjuring up lots of danceable moments with a nostalgic tone and a zest and gusto for the joys of music within one’s life." - V13

"Indie Rock from Social Creatures"

"the band has crafted a distinct sound that fuses danceable rhythms with vulnerable lyricism, peppered with bursts of raw rock energy." - Plastic Mag UK

"Brooklyn’s own Social Creatures debut new material at Baby’s All Right Monday night"

"Brooklyn-based Social Creatures is one of those individualistic and genre-bending bands you’ll have to see live to understand their sound. It just makes more sense." - Music Vault

"Social Creatures and the intricate pop indie candor of "Seven Years""

"Do a trust fall into "Seven Years" by Brooklyn based Social Creatures and you will be caught tenderly in artful bass lines, dreadfully pretty floating guitar notes, nostalgic organ sounds, running drum beats, huge dreamy synth walls and pop indie vox that are easy to crush on." - American Pancake

Bio

Brooklyn-based SOCIAL CREATURES released their self-titled debut album in 2022 via BonFire Records. Stuffed with analog synths, nostalgic guitar riffs and eccentric grooves, the LP had several tracks featured on Apple Music’s “New in Alternative” curator playlist, and single Blue Lips will be featured in the upcoming Jamie Flatters (Avatar 2) film “Black Dog”.

Upon the LP’s release they hit the road on a national tour with stops in 30+ cities including Pleasantville Music Festival, Musikfest and Montauk Music Festival, touring with Sam Roberts Band and sharing bills with acts like They Might Be Giants, The Allman Betts Band, The Wild Things, and more.

The band felt their greatest successes on their debut LP were found weaving freely back and forth between 80’s-inspired dance music and alternative rock, and have written and recorded their new “This Is Where the Love Lies” EP while on the road, further honing and dialing in this sound. New singles The Ravine and Nothing Changes were featured in Spotify’s All New Rock and Fresh Finds Rock editorial playlists.

The five-piece consists of Canadian singer Jono Robertson and fellow multi-instrumentalist Yann Palaric-Skinner, guitarist Dan Lazari, bassist and producer Jacob Ott and drummer John Patrick Roach, and are currently writing their second LP.
