From the opening notes of Sisteria’s new track “Om/Yes” one can’t help but flashback to the powerful pipes of Grace Slick and Ann Wilson. Yes, Katie Williams of the Norman, Oklahoma band steals the show with haunting vocals while the rest of the band churns out stoner metal riffs, creating a dark Black Sabbath stew of psych, doom and hard rock.

The long-awaited new album aptly titled Dark Matter arrives on August 19th and Glide is premiering this vivacious cut “OM Yes” (below) that fans of Sleep and Acid King will welcome with its thick bleeding riffs and explosive musicianship. We hope to see an invite soon to Levitation or Desert Daze for Sisteria, so the psych set can experience their ebullient brand of heaviness.


“Om/Yes’ is perhaps my favorite song on the record. I wrote the beginning of it after a long period of writer’s block and it felt like the levee of creativity had finally broken. Steve Boaz, our drummer and producer, wrote the riff and composed the bulk of the instrumentals. Our beloved guitarist, Richie Tarver made me cry when he came in and played the melody he had written for the intro. I was instantly catapulted to a different time. It’s so magical to work with people who speak the same soul language. It is arguably the heaviest song on the record and speaks to the interconnectedness of all beings. “I am you and you are me,” adds Williams. - Glide Magazine
