Sidney Travis

Sidney Travis, the disciplinary with a concentration in Hip Hop and independent film. I was born in Newark, New Jersey in 1986, and then moved to Atlanta when I was 8 years old with my mother and two cousins. The first time I ever rapped was when my cousin Aaliyah wrote a rhyme for me when I was 6 years old. Ever since then, I’ve had an excitement for writing lyrics over instrumentals. It wasn’t until I was 15 when I first recorded, and after my first performance at the age of 16, I knew I found my niche; performing is such a thrill, a high that nothing else can give.
I don’t have a reason for why I decided to be an entertainer, entertainment chose me. My major is Interdisciplinary studies, with a focus in theatre performance, and a minor in Urban education There is an intense craving that needs to be satisfied, and there is a yearning for more, more than what is presently being provided in regards to Hip Hop music and Independent film. There are many subjects, ideas, topics, and lifestyles that are not being represented and spoken for, and that’s what I do; by using my own life experiences and the experience of others, not only do I present different themes, I search and research topics that are and are not being discussed.
I’ve been sponsored by various international companies like, Behringer, Samson, Korg, Gemini, Roland, and more! With over 200 songs recorded, more than 100 performances, and being a radio DJ at WRAS Atlanta, 88.5 fm, I am more than equipped, ready, willing and able to do what is necessary in my endeavor in becoming something beyond great: timeless.
