We decided to pick two winners because both of our top favorite, take-us-to-another-planet covers were so very different so we had to pick both. @shyshellz we just LOVE this. The build in the bridge is explosive and the overall instrumentation - how you took a piano ballad and turned it into this massive, dark guitar-led soundscape - was incredible. We truly FELT it. Shyshellz began as the solo project of Mexico City native Ana Barraza (Seacat, Sister Cities). The self-titled EP was recorded, mixed, and mastered entirely by Barraza in her living room in Hermosillo, Sonora.
After completing the Shyshellz EP, Ana reached out to former US-based bandmates, and friends of over 10 years, Spike Brendle (bass guitar, Sister Cities) and Derek Cooper (drums). Putting borders aside, the three have become closer than ever and are now touring the United States and Mexico while crafting new material.
