Bio
DeShaun Williams (born June 14, 1990), better known by his stage name Shaun Linen is an American rapper and Hip Hop record producer.
Early Life
Shaun Linen was born in Hammond, Indiana in 1990. He was raised by his single mother and grandmother. He also has three siblings, two older sisters and a younger brother.
His music aspirations began early in life and were embraced by his family. When he was ten years old his uncle Eric gave him his first piece of music equipment, an ASRX-Pro. Linen began sampling records from his mother and fathers vinyl collections, mostly composed of Soul and RnB from the 70s and 80s. He later began to develop his writing at the age of 11 and credits music to his upbringing. Linen's influences range from artists such as Jay Z and Snoop Dogg to groups Outkast and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
While living with his grandmother for a brief stint, Shaun Linen produced records out of a make shift studio in her basement. Upon graduating from Hammond High School, he attended Indiana State University before transferring to the historically black college Grambling State University.
2009 - Present
In 2009 Shaun Linen joined Island Def Jam's digital distribution imprint along with then group, Tha Hood-Prepz. They released the "Feel Good Music" Ep, the groups only release, in November 2010. Linen followed with his solo mixtape "Good Will Hunting" in April 2011. The free mixtape garnered an underground fan base being featured on Thisis50.com and other reputable blogs. Linens loyal fans were fed with free music throughout 2012. Shaun Linen and long time collaborator Fresh began releasing tracks as the duo Fresh Linen. The pair also saw underground success with their releases.
