Glendale-based country recording artist Shari Rowe is among the self-released and independent label talent named by Music Resource Group as the judge-determined winners of the 12th Independent Music Awards, the international awards program for independent bands and artists.
Rowe took home top honors in the country song category for “Silly Boy” off of her latest self-titled CD release. Rowe co-wrote the song with Joshua Foster. She describes her award-winning single as “an honest, sweet, poetic country ballad that captures the heart of a real country love song.”
The veteran artists and rising stars were named as winners in more than 80 album, EP, song, music producer, music video and design categories. Thousands of submissions were received from around the globe, and were determined by a panel of influential artists and music industry executives.
Known for championing original, and sometimes controversial work by artists who follow their own muse, the IMAs provide winners with performance, promotion and distribution opportunities that will place them in front of music supervisors, talent buyers, record label executives and fans worldwide.
“Winning an IMA is exciting and humbling at the same time,” Rowe said. “To have ‘Silly Boy’ chosen from so many songs is such an honor. I am so grateful for the chance to have my music heard by fans and industry professionals around the world.”

The energetic, singer-songwriter Shari Rowe, fuses classic country with bluegrass and blues-rock flair. The Lamon Records recording artist traded in private living room concerts, for the big stage, performing with acts such as Big and Rich, Uncle Si and Marsha Robertson, and Maddie and Tae. Shari spends most of her time on the road, taking her high energy performances as far as Poland. When she’s not touring, Shari uses her powerful voice to lead worship in her church, around her family.
Shari’s music is defined by her Arizona childhood, where she grew surrounded by her musical family, singing by the campfire, day after day of horseback riding. Those elements, the outdoors, family, and adventure, are clear themes in her music. More importantly, Shari’s sincere soul and charisma shines through each song.
