SHANNTA...the struggle, the life, the failure, the fight, the success. Hailing from Decatur, GA, SHANNTA began writing poetry at the tender age of 9. Her work quickly gained rhythm and evolved into the form of ART....better known as rap/hip hop. With a striking lyrical resemblance to no female rappers that have come before her, SHANNTA brings a new style to hip hop. From the fiercest guitar sounds of rock to the hardest hitting 808s, SHANNTA is never afraid to combine the two and push the envelope. SHANNTA's lyrics are well-known for tapping into one's emotions, yet via pairing such lyrics with beats that bang, SHANNTA creates music that epitomizes REAL life; Celebratory music that one cries to in private yet is still able to bob his/her head to in the clubs. Musical influences include Lauryn Hill, Andre 3000, Missy Elliott, TI, Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, and B.O.B. To be "different" is never a goal, it is merely a being.
